14053 – Energy Storage Engineer (remote) – Juno Beach, FL
Start Date: ASAP
Type: Temporary Project
Estimated Duration:12+ months with possible extensions
Work Setting: Remote.
Our client is filling this contract position exclusively through approved staffing partners, so this opportunity is not available by applying directly with the client. If you're interested, we'd be happy to represent you throughout the hiring process.
Required:
  • Experience supporting the design phase and engineering major components for large-scale energy storage projects;
  • Travel 25% of the time for project specific duties;
  • Active Driver License.

Preferred
  • Experience with Solar/PV Engineering and/or Construction experience (3+ years);
  • Experience in one or more of these areas: Power electronics, Battery storage system design, Substation design, Generation tie design;
  • Experience with energy storage technologies, including battery chemistries, power conversion units, and DC/DC converters;
  • Experience with lithium-ion battery storage safety standards (UL1973, UL9540, UL9540A, NFPA 855, NFPA 70E, NEC, applicable IFC/IBC sections);
  • Experience with IEC 61215, 61646, 61730.

Responsibilities
  • Support design phase and engineer major components for large-scale energy storage projects;
  • Recognize inconsistencies in engineering drawings, take corrective action, and strive for better design quality and efficiency;
  • Identify and resolve errors in engineering studies and suggest future solutions;
  • Understand specifications for major equipment purchasing, ensure clear communication, and propose solutions;
  • Understand permitting requirements, propose solutions to legal challenges, and recommend site design improvements;
  • Handle other assigned duties as needed;
  • Travel 25% of the time for project specific duties.
