We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our expanding team at the Small Joy Support Center. In this full-time position, you will work remotely while making a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals and families in Hartford, Connecticut. This position allows for remote work, combining flexibility with the resources of a collaborative outpatient practice. You will be part of a diverse group of specialists, including psychiatrists, psychologists, and fellow LMFTs, who are all committed to providing top-notch care. Though you will engage primarily through virtual sessions, you will also have access to clinic resources and support to facilitate your work effectively.

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and screenings to evaluate clients' mental health concerns, followed by developing individualized treatment plans.
• Facilitate evidence-based psychotherapy sessions, both individually and in group formats, addressing various issues such as anxiety, depression, and relationship conflicts.
• Work collaboratively with other mental health professionals to ensure a holistic approach to client care, offering solutions that encompass medical, psychological, and social aspects.
• Educate families about mental health issues and guide them through the therapeutic process to foster better communication and support systems.
• Maintain meticulous, confidential records of client interactions and treatment plans, adhering to ethical and regulatory standards.
• Utilize therapy management software and electronic health records (EHR) to streamline documentation and optimize patient care processes.

The clients you'll be supporting at our center are individuals and families navigating various mental health concerns, including relationship difficulties, family dynamics, and personal trauma. You will be tasked with understanding their unique backgrounds, fostering a nonjudgmental therapeutic alliance, and delivering tailored interventions that prioritize their wellness and recovery.

• Active and valid state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
• A Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field.
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills necessary for effective client engagement and administrative tasks.
• Demonstrated empathy, patience, and a nonjudgmental attitude toward individuals navigating their mental health journeys.

• Prior experience working with various mental health issues, particularly in outpatient or community-based settings.
• Previous involvement with treatment planning and coordinating care among multidisciplinary teams.
• Exposure to family systems therapy and experience in a remote or virtual therapy environment is a plus.
