Harborview's Medical Respite Program (Edward Thomas House Medical Respite) has an outstanding opportunity for a Registered Nurse.
WORK SCHEDULE

  • M-Th 8-1630

Department Summary
Harborview's Medical Respite Program (Edward Thomas House Medical Respite) is a program that provides recuperative care to people experiencing homelessness who are too sick to return to the shelter or streets, but do not require a hospital level of care.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Screen and triage referrals from King County hospitals for Medical Respite admission
  • Coordinate with referring facilities and Respite staff to complete referral documentation
  • Determine patient eligibility for admission
  • Facilitate and coordinate patient transfers to the Respite program
  • Demonstrate strong multitasking, attention to detail, and communication skills
  • Provide direct nursing care within the clinic setting as needed
  • Perform wound care and PICC line management
  • Support case management activities in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams

REQUIREMENTS
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Washington
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience (including wound care, PICC line management, and case management)
  • At least 1 year of experience working with homeless and/or safety-net populations
