What is a remote PCO?

A Remote PCO (Private Hire Vehicle Operator) is a licensed professional who manages and coordinates private hire vehicle (PHV) services such as minicabs, typically from a remote location rather than a central office. Remote PCOs handle bookings, dispatch drivers, and ensure compliance with local transport regulations, all using online platforms or phone systems. This role allows for flexible working arrangements and is increasingly popular due to advancements in technology and the growth of ride-hailing services. Remote PCOs must still be licensed by the relevant local authority and adhere to all regulations governing private hire operations.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as a remote PCO?

To thrive as a Remote Pest Control Operator, you need a solid understanding of pest biology, effective treatment methods, and compliance with relevant safety regulations, often backed by a pest control certification or license. Familiarity with digital reporting tools, remote monitoring systems, and pesticide application equipment is typically required. Outstanding problem-solving, attention to detail, and strong communication skills help in diagnosing issues remotely and guiding clients effectively. These abilities ensure safe, accurate pest management and high customer satisfaction in a remote work environment.

How does a remote PCO manage communication with clients and team members across different time zones?

Remote PCOs (Project Control Officers) often work with globally distributed teams, which can make coordinating meetings and sharing updates challenging. To address this, they typically rely on digital collaboration tools like Slack, Microsoft Teams, or project management platforms to ensure everyone stays informed. Setting clear expectations about response times, regularly updating shared dashboards, and scheduling recurring check-ins help maintain transparency and keep projects on track. Flexibility and proactive communication are key to managing these cross-time zone collaborations successfully.

Job description

About Frontier

Frontier is a subsidiary of Fresh Prints. Fresh Prints is a New York-based, fast-growing, fully-remote, 380-person company that has most of our team in India and the Philippines. A few years ago Fresh Prints started helping other fast-growing companies build their teams. We got so good at it that we decided to spin out a new company to focus exclusively on that and call it Frontier.

Here at Frontier, we help companies grow full-time, cross-functional teams abroad. We hire the smartest people, and we place them in the best companies. We have placed over 800 hires across 50 different US-based startups and high-growth companies.

About the Client:

CP Build was founded in 1980 and is a privately held and fast-growing commercial finishes contractor. We are a group of highly talented tight-knit construction professionals mixed with strategic and passionate individuals focused on executing projects and supplying the best-curated products from around the world. We are growing our team and looking for a talented and motivated individual to join our team.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable in a high-growth, hard-working environment and will roll up their sleeves to do whatever is necessary to push the company forward while contributing to the strategic direction of the organization. You should have experience balancing the need for processes with promoting autonomy and excessive communication.

We offer competitive compensation, as well as a great place to work. We're an experienced team that enjoys working collaboratively and welcomes the knowledge, experience, and contribution you bring.

About the Role:

The Tariff PCO Specialist plays a critical role in managing the end-to-end tariff recovery process for imported project materials. Reporting to the Finance & Accounting Supervisor, this fully remote role is responsible for locating and processing Customs' Entry Summaries, tracking duties on the Master Tariff Log, allocating costs to correct projects/scopes, and setting up Potential Change Orders (PCOs) to ensure clients are accurately billed.

What You'll Do:

  • Retrieve Entry Summaries from vendor portals (TQL WiseGrid, CH Robinson), isolate relevant pages into PDFs, and redact proprietary information following standard naming and file-management conventions.
  • Cross-reference container and PO numbers against tracking reports and consult with Project Managers to tie each shipment to its respective project(s), scope(s), and PO(s).
  • Record importer file numbers, entered values, duties, entry dates, countries of origin, shippers, HTSUS codes, rates, and individual line-item duties.
  • Break out entered values and duties across POs, scopes, and projects, properly splitting tariffs on multi-project or multi-rate shipments.
  • Build PCO Excel/PDF files using templates, apply sales tax by jurisdiction, apply OH&P per agreements, and verify billing eligibility before charging clients.
  • Coordinate effectively with PMs, Sales, Accounting, and shipping vendors to resolve complex, multi-variable shipping scenarios.

Requirements:

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (filtering, lookups, multi-column data management, formulas).
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry, financial calculations, and file management.
  • Familiarity with PDF editing tools.
  • Ability to interpret customs/import documentation (Entry Summaries, HTSUS codes, duty rates).
  • Strong organizational skills and disciplined file/folder management.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external vendors.

Strongly Preferred:

  • Background in construction, commercial products, or supply-chain cost management.
  • Working knowledge of tariff/duty refund processes and evolving trade regulations.
  • Experience allocating shared costs across multiple projects and cost centers.

What We're Looking For:

  • Meticulous problem solver comfortable managing complex, multi-variable scenarios.
  • High ownership and accountability ~ errors directly impact project cost recovery and client billing.
  • Excellent organizational discipline with a systematic approach to data tracking.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, Standard US Hours (e.g., 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST)

Time Off: PTO including vacation, sick days, and holidays.
