Job Summary

Titan Tax is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Remote Payroll Assistant to support our payroll and administrative operations. The ideal candidate will assist with processing employee payroll information, maintaining accurate records, reviewing time and attendance data, and ensuring payroll-related tasks are completed accurately and on schedule.

This position is well suited for someone who is organized, comfortable working with confidential information, and able to manage multiple administrative tasks in a remote work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation and processing of regular payroll.
  • Review employee timekeeping, attendance, hours worked, and payroll records for accuracy.
  • Enter and maintain employee payroll information in payroll systems.
  • Assist with calculating regular hours, overtime, deductions, reimbursements, and other payroll adjustments.
  • Review payroll reports and identify discrepancies or missing information.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee payroll files and records.
  • Assist with onboarding and payroll setup for new employees.
  • Respond to routine payroll-related questions from employees and management.
  • Coordinate with HR, accounting, and management to resolve payroll discrepancies.
  • Assist with payroll tax documentation and reporting as directed.
  • Maintain organized electronic records and supporting payroll documentation.
  • Follow company policies, payroll procedures, and applicable employment regulations.
  • Perform other payroll and administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework in accounting, payroll, finance, or business is a plus.
  • Previous payroll, accounting, bookkeeping, data entry, or administrative experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, or similar spreadsheet applications.
  • Ability to work with confidential and sensitive employee information.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to identify discrepancies and resolve routine issues.
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
  • Reliable internet connection and a suitable home-office workspace.
