Payroll Coordinator

The Birner Group | Earth City, MO | Full-Time | Onsite

Are you a detail-oriented Payroll Coordinator who takes pride in accuracy, organization, and delivering excellent employee support? The Birner Group is seeking a dedicated Payroll Coordinator to join our team in Earth City, MO. This onsite role is responsible for supporting payroll operations for approximately 850 employees across six EINs while serving as a key connection between HR, Finance, and employees.

As our Payroll Coordinator, you'll help ensure employees are paid accurately, on time, and in compliance with all applicable regulations. You'll work closely with multiple departments, assist with payroll administration, and play an important role in creating a positive employee experience.

What You'll Do
  • Support the bi-weekly payroll process, ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing.
  • Verify timekeeping records and ensure employees and managers approve time before payroll is processed.
  • Prepare commission and bonus calculations for multiple departments.
  • Assist with maintaining employee information in Paycor, including tax details, benefits deductions, and leave balances.
  • Research and resolve payroll discrepancies, including overpayments, underpayments, and missing information.
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries and provide guidance regarding pay, deductions, benefits, and leave balances.
  • Support payroll compliance efforts, including multi-state payroll requirements.
What We're Looking For
  • 2-3 years of payroll experience required.
  • Experience with Paycor or Paychex is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Understanding of payroll tax regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Experience supporting multi-state and remote employee payroll processing.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with HR, Finance, managers, and employees.
