Responsibilities

The Director, Revenue Cycle Automation & AI leads Mayo Clinic's automation and AI portfolio across Revenue Cycle operations. This leader owns strategy, delivery, and value realization for a mature, multi-year program that has delivered significant FTE savings and process improvement. The role sets direction for agentic automation, RPA, and AI-enabled solutions in Revenue Cycle; partners deeply with Revenue Cycle operational leadership; and ensures the pillar continues to scale without disruption as the broader program expands.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the end-to-end Revenue Cycle automation and AI portfolio strategy, roadmap, and delivery outcomes, in partnership with Revenue Cycle operational leaders.
  • Lead a multi-disciplinary delivery team of developers, architects, and analysts to design and deploy UiPath and AI-enabled solutions across Revenue Cycle workflows.
  • Sponsor and govern agentic automation initiatives (e.g., UiPath Maestro, LLM-based agents with human-in-the-loop) that extend the program beyond traditional RPA.
  • Drive business case development, ROI measurement, and value realization reporting for Revenue Cycle initiatives, leveraging standardized rate cards and value levers.
  • Manage vendor and platform relationships (UiPath and AI tooling) for Revenue Cycle use cases, coordinating with enterprise architecture and procurement.
  • Serve as executive-level interface to Revenue Cycle leadership, representing the automation program in governance forums, steering committees, and strategic reviews.
  • Develop, coach, and retain talent across the Revenue Cycle pillar; model leadership behaviors that reinforce Mayo Clinic's primary value.
  • Partner across pillars to share reusable components, accelerators, and architecture patterns that benefit the broader enterprise program.

Qualifications

Bachelor degree with 10 years' experience which includes at least 7 years in general leadership required. Master's degree preferred. Broad expertise in healthcare management, healthcare operations, change management and systems preferred. 

Possesses and applies knowledge of healthcare clinical and administrative systems and processes to achieve organizational priorities. Has solid knowledge of Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Possess ability to apply broad knowledge to new circumstances to add value and perspective. Exhibits a customer-service orientation; anticipates, understands and addresses customer needs in a timely manner. Working knowledge of large revenue cycle systems preferred and medical record systems. Ability to establish a productive team-based work environment and collaborate effectively across multiple sites and functions. Demonstrated communication and presentation skills. Ability to lead or direct multiple complex projects and activities in an ambiguous environment. Participates in establishing an environment that promotes initiative, creativity and a high level of productivity. Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) Certification Preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience leading Revenue Cycle operations, healthcare finance, or large-scale healthcare operational transformation initiatives.
  • Proven track record delivering RPA, intelligent automation, or AI programs at enterprise scale, including measurable ROI and FTE impact.
  • Experience leading teams that build on UiPath or comparable enterprise automation platforms.
  • Experience sponsoring agentic AI, LLM-enabled, or intelligent document processing initiatives.
  • Strong financial acumen, including business case development, value measurement, and labor economics.
  • Deep Revenue Cycle domain expertise across denials management, AR, coding, billing, or patient access.
  • Experience with Epic (Resolute, Cadence) or comparable EHR/revenue cycle platforms.
  • UiPath enterprise certifications or equivalent platform fluency.
  • Prior experience standing up or scaling a citizen developer or enablement program.
