Description
Adjunct Faculty within the College of Professional Studies (CPS) are critical to the success of UNE's online programs. CPS faculty facilitate the learning process for online students through timely and effective instruction and communication. Instructors also serve as mentors, sharing their experience to guide students and support the achievement of their educational and professional goals. Faculty contribute to student retention by creating a positive and engaging learning environment that enables students to derive maximum benefit from their program. Instructors receive supervision, collaboration, and guidance from the UNE Online Science Prerequisites for the Health Professions (SPHP) Program.

Responsibilities
  • Providing expert, graduate-level knowledge in Pathophysiology
  • Guiding students through their educational experience while upholding the CPS commitment to student success
  • Responding to student inquiries in a timely manner (within 24 hours)
  • Facilitating class instruction by engaging in the online course portal a minimum of five times per week
  • Hosting at least one hour of virtual office hours per week
  • Demonstrating strong collaboration and communication skills

Qualifications
  • Experience teaching online in an educational setting, demonstrated expertise in curriculum development and assessment, and a passion for teaching Pathophysiology
  • Master's degree in Pathophysiology or a related field required; PhD preferred
  • Minimum of three years of teaching experience in Pathophysiology
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and support students in academic and professional settings
  • Experience teaching online, with a willingness to learn and apply new technologies in education
  • Experience using the Brightspace/D2L learning management system preferred
