Job description

Consor Engineers is seeking a Traffic Plan Reviewer to support the evaluation and approval of traffic impact and roadway design plans. This fully remote role will focus on reviewing plans associated with crosswalks, turn lanes, center lanes, traffic signals, and related infrastructure, ensuring compliance with city standards, safety guidelines, and applicable regulations.

This is an ideal opportunity for professionals with private development experience who are familiar with traffic design and/or permitting processes, and who thrive in a detail-oriented review environment.

This is a fully remote postion within the Greater Houston Area


  • Review traffic and roadway design plans for compliance with City of Houston standards, engineering criteria, and safety regulations.
  • Evaluate elements such as crosswalks, turn lanes, center lanes, signalization, and traffic control features.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, engineers, and external stakeholders to resolve plan comments and deficiencies.
  • Ensure adherence to applicable codes, ordinances, and permitting requirements.
  • Utilize permitting and document management systems to process and track plan reviews.
  • Provide clear, concise feedback and recommendations to applicants and stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of reviews, approvals, and revisions.

  • Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering with an emphasis in transportation design.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., EIT or PE) are a plus but not required
  • Experience in traffic engineering, civil engineering, or transportation planning/design.
  • Background in private development projects, specifically in design and/or permitting.
  • Working knowledge of roadway design standards and traffic control principles.
  • Ability to interpret and review engineering drawings and technical documents.
  • Familiarity with City of Houston standards and permitting processes.
  • Experience working with municipal permitting agencies or public-sector infrastructure projects.
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • ILMS (Integrated Land Management System)
    • ProjectDox or similar electronic plan review systems
