Job description

Envision Radiology is adding a Reading Room Coordinator to the team!
Monday - Friday 9:30AM - 6:00PM | Position Pay Range $24.63 - $29.68

Summary/Objective
The Reading Room Coordinator is responsible for serving as the primary operational and communication hub supporting radiologists within the radiology reading environment. This role coordinates reading room workflows, manages exam readiness, facilitates communication between radiologists, referring providers, and internal departments, and provides first-level application and operational support. The Reading Room Coordinator ensures efficient, organized, and high-quality reading room operations that enable radiologists to focus on clinical interpretation and patient care.
Essential Functions
1. Coordinates radiologists' daily reading room workflows, ensuring studies are prepared, organized, and ready for interpretation.
2. Manages and resolves exam-related issues, including missing or incomplete information such as scanned paperwork, missing images, required additional views, prior exams for comparison, and prior reports.
3. Oversees reading list orchestration and workflow prioritization using PACS, RIS, dictation systems, and related radiology applications to support efficient case flow.
4. Handles report addendum requests, coordinates with radiologists, and ensures timely and accurate completion and communication.
5. Communicates radiology results, findings, and clarifications directly to referring providers and clinical staff at the direction of the radiologist, in adherence to communication protocols.
6. Supports radiologists in the creation of preliminary reports by dictating study findings for designated exam types using PACS and voice recognition systems.
7. Facilitates clear and professional communication between radiologists and referring providers' offices, including physicians and clinical staff.
8. Manages communications between radiologists and internal departments as well as external parties, relaying information accurately and following issues through to resolution.
9. Troubleshoots radiologists' application and systems issues, addressing basic functionality questions and escalating technical problems to IT while tracking through resolution.
10. Prioritizes provider and radiologist escalations, determines appropriate resolution pathways, and manages workflow interruptions to maintain service continuity.
11. Balances competing service demands and supports service recovery efforts that directly impact provider satisfaction, radiologist productivity, and revenue preservation.
12. Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications
Job Qualifications/Experience:
• Five or more years of experience within a healthcare facility or clinic.
• Excellent organization, verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong understanding of radiology workflows and reading room operations.
• Experience with PACS, RIS, dictation systems, and reading list management.
• Comfortable communicating clinical information and results to referring providers under radiologist guidance, and proficient with voice recognition dictation workflows using PACS and voice recognition.
Education/Certifications:
• Associate's degree or equivalent education, training, or experience working in a healthcare setting.
