Our mission is to make Red Clay the most AI-forward consulting firm in Power & Utilities. We build AI tools that make our consultants dramatically more effective, and we invent AI products that solve real problems for utilities.About the Role
You'll be the connective tissue between our utility clients, consulting teams, and AI engineering-understanding what users need, translating that into clear requirements, and ensuring our AI products are well-documented and easy to adopt.
This is a hybrid role that blends business analysis, user research, and technical writing. You'll spend time with consultants and clients understanding their workflows and pain points, work with product and engineering to shape solutions, and create documentation that helps users succeed.Key Responsibilities

  • Gather and synthesize feedback from internal product releases to inform roadmap decisions
  • Conduct user interviews and discovery sessions with utility clients to understand needs, workflows, and challenges
  • Translate findings into clear product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria
  • Create and maintain product documentation: user guides, technical specs, training materials
  • Design and iterate on user experiences through wireframes, process flows, and prototypes
  • Partner with engineering to clarify requirements and validate that delivered features meet user needs
  • Support AI adoption and fluency through documentation and training
Qualifications
  • 0-5 years of experience in business analysis, process improvement, UX research, technical writing, product management, or related field
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to connect with both business and technical audiences

  • Experience with Oracle Utilities applications
  • Public portfolio showing demonstrated experience with LLMs (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini) or AI-native applications
  • Comfort with ambiguity-you bring structure to undefined problems
  • High agency-you identify opportunities and execute without being asked
Location & Travel
This position is remote-eligible within the USA. Ability to travel up to 30% of the time to client sites as needed. Is This Role Right for You?
Before applying, ask yourself:
  • Are you comfortable operating without a clear playbook?
  • Do you prefer shipping and iterating over planning and perfecting?
  • Do you keep up with the AI frontier and get excited about new model, protocol, and product releases?
  • Can you context-switch between talking to a Red Clay consultant, utility CIO and a field technician in the same day?

If you answered yes to these, we'd love to hear from you.
