FULL DESCRIPTION: We are seeking a Director, Marketing & Strategy to serve as the head of the Marketing function for a U.S. pharmaceutical and biologics portfolio, including both human and veterinary markets. This strategic and hands-on role is responsible for developing and executing integrated marketing strategies, supporting brand management, product differentiation, market engagement, sales enablement, new business development, and future product or indication launches. The ideal candidate will have pharmaceutical or life sciences marketing experience, strong strategic planning and tactical execution skills, leadership experience, digital and multi-channel marketing experience, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally in a highly regulated healthcare environment.
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Serving as the head of the Marketing function for the U.S. pharmaceutical and biologics portfolio
- Supporting the Vice President of Strategy & Commercial Operations in developing integrated business strategies
- Leading strategic development and execution of comprehensive marketing plans across U.S. portfolios
- Supporting pharmaceutical drugs and biologic products for human and veterinary use
- Developing and executing integrated marketing strategies to support product growth, market expansion, and commercial objectives
- Managing a small Marketing team responsible for product marketing, brand marketing, digital marketing, and social media platforms
- Mentoring, coaching, and developing direct reports to maximize individual and team performance
- Developing brand positioning and messaging strategies for healthcare professionals, veterinary providers, and other key stakeholders
- Leading launch planning for new products or indications, including market development, competitive analysis, and promotional strategy
- Overseeing execution of multi-channel campaigns, including digital, print, conferences, and direct outreach
- Analyzing campaign performance metrics to optimize return on investment
- Managing marketing agency relationships and external vendors to deliver high-quality and compliant marketing materials and programs
- Leading Marketing participation in the internal Communications Review Committee
- Ensuring promotional content adheres to internal policies and applicable industry standards
- Collaborating on market research initiatives to generate customer insights, segment analysis, and market opportunity assessments
- Building and managing the annual U.S. Marketing budget
- Optimizing budget allocation to support business objectives
- Monitoring spend and providing regular performance updates to senior leadership
- Ensuring marketing activities comply with applicable industry regulations, company SOPs, and U.S. healthcare promotional laws and guidelines
- Partnering with Sales and Strategy leadership to support sales enablement and customer engagement
- Developing impactful marketing campaigns, tools, and training to support field execution
- Translating brand strategies into executable tactical plans
- Coordinating resources and tracking performance against marketing and sales effectiveness goals
- Evaluating and strategically developing sales messaging and field execution for core portfolio and new products
- Partnering with Sales Leadership, Commercial Leadership, and Medical Affairs to implement onboarding, product, and skills training programs
- Supporting evaluation of new market opportunities from concept development through market evaluation
- Supporting go-to-market strategy development for new business opportunities
- Collaborating cross-functionally with Sales, Regulatory, Medical Affairs, Commercial Leadership, and Global Product teams
- Preparing and presenting marketing strategies, campaign plans, 90-day plans, launch plans, and business recommendations to leadership
- Supporting digital and social marketing strategy to expand customer reach and improve market engagement
- Performing other duties as assigned
The selected candidate will also possess:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Life Sciences, or a related field required
- MBA or advanced degree preferred
- 10+ years of progressive experience in pharmaceutical or life sciences marketing required
- 3+ years of experience in a leadership role required
- Demonstrated success developing and executing marketing strategies in a regulated healthcare environment required
- Experience overseeing Marketing across multiple products or therapeutic areas required
- Successful launch of a new product or indication of an existing product preferred
- Veterinary market experience strongly preferred but not required
- Pharmaceutical marketing experience required
- Life sciences, biotechnology, immunotherapy, allergy, or specialty pharmaceutical experience preferred
- Deep understanding of pharmaceutical marketing principles and the U.S. healthcare landscape
- Proven ability to lead strategic planning and tactical execution
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret market data and campaign performance
- Excellent project management, organizational, and prioritization skills
- Highly effective communication and presentation skills
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence without authority
- Strong vendor management, budget management, and contract negotiation skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required
- Familiarity with CRM and digital marketing platforms preferred
- Experience leading, mentoring, and developing marketing team members
- Experience working with Sales, Strategy, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Commercial Leadership, and cross-functional teams
- Experience supporting sales enablement, sales messaging, customer engagement, and field execution preferred
- Experience developing multi-channel campaigns, including digital, print, conferences, and direct outreach
- Experience managing agency partners and external vendors preferred
- Strong hands-on execution mindset with the ability to work strategically and tactically
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while proactively engaging team members and stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment
- Ability to support occasional onsite meetings, team meetings, conferences, launches, or business travel as needed

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods while reviewing marketing plans, campaign materials, analytics, presentations, reports, budgets, and business documents
- Ability to communicate by phone, email, video meeting, and in person throughout the workday
- Ability to review detailed marketing materials, promotional content, digital campaign materials, portfolio information, commercial data, PowerPoint presentations, reports, and computer screens for extended periods
- Ability to use hands and fingers for typing, presentation creation, documentation, reporting, data entry, and standard office tasks
- Ability to participate in remote meetings, team discussions, leadership presentations, CRC reviews, and cross-functional planning sessions
- Ability to occasionally stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout office, meeting, conference, or customer-facing environments as needed
- Ability to occasionally lift, carry, or move standard office, presentation, event, or business materials as needed
- Ability to travel occasionally for onsite meetings, team meetings, conferences, launches, or business needs as required
Salary Range: $190,000 to $250,000/year plus 15% bonus
