Duties
Help

• Reviews emergency contingency preparedness plans for federal, state and local governments.
• Resolves operational and safety issues during THAAD missile operations while ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
• Serves as the operations specialist for the missile program.
• Conducts operational analysis for organizational projects.
• Coordinates with leadership to plan current and future operations support requirements for the organization.
• Briefs leadership on logistics and maintenance issues for organization.
• Communicates technical and safety information during THAAD missile operations and training events.

• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required
• This position is Mission Essential and subject to on-call and irregular work hours. Position supports
  delivery of critical assets to the Joint Warfighter in support of the Army globally. Ability to travel both CONUS and OCONUS is critical.
• This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain license to operate a motor vehicle, crane (up to 30,000 pounds), forklift (up to 15,000 pounds), and Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) related material handling equipment (MHE).
• This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with HAZMAT endorsements.
• This position requires the incumbent to comply with the Drug Abuse Testing Program requirements. This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP), governed by AR 600-85, subject to applicant testing and random drug testing.
• Applicants selected will be required to sign a DA 5019 (Condition of Employment for Certain Civilian Positions Identified as Critical under the Department of the Army Drug-Free Federal Workplace Program).
• This position requires the incumbent to successfully meet and maintain the requirements of the Physical Security of Arms, Ammunitions and Explosives IAW AR-190-11.
• This position requires incumbent to complete a DA Form 7708, Personnel Reliability Screening and Evaluation Form per AR 190-13
• This position requires the incumbent to meet the requirements of AMC-R 350-4, Training and Certification Program for Personnel Working in Ammunition Operations.
• This position requires up to 50% or greater travel CONUS and OCONUS to escort the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) missiles.
• This position is subject to the Lautenberg amendment to the gun control of 1968 which makes it a felony for anyone who has been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence to ship, transport, possess, or receive firearms or ammunition.
• This position requires incumbent to obtain and maintain a government issued Credit Card for deployment/TDY travel expenses
• This position requires incumbent to obtain and maintain an official Government Passport for OCONUS deployment/TDY travel.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience Statement: One year of specialized experience which includes: preparing personnel equipment and/or facilities for routine training activities; preparing reports and briefings for senior leadership; conducting inspections of liquid-fueled guided missiles. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
