The job duties of a remote operations manager involve managing a production process or the provision of a service. As a remote operations manager, you work from home to monitor business operations, plan a budget, and come up with strategies to improve efficiency, quality, and profits. Some of your job responsibilities vary depending on the industry in which you work. In fields such as production, you oversee quality assurance (QA) operations. In all positions, you coordinate with employees and departments and run meetings virtually. Some jobs require you to visit work or production sites occasionally.

Job description

A little about us
Knit is the AI-native consumer research platform helping brands automate and accelerate primary research. With our Researcher-Driven AI, we've condensed the entire quant + qual research process from weeks into days (sometimes hours!) for 50+ enterprise brands - including Amazon, T-Mobile, Mars, NASCAR, and more. We're on a mission to scale and democratize world-class research. From survey generation to stakeholder-ready reports, our platform is redefining how insights teams operate - and we need your help to push the limits of what's possible.
The role
At Knit, the workplace is part of the product we build for our team. We're looking for someone to own it - the space, the hybrid experience, and everything that makes a workday here frictionless. You'll anticipate what people need before they ask, and you'll build the systems that keep working as we grow.
Knit is an AI-native startup with real traction and blue-chip customers. Our NYC team is high-performing and fun, and we're at the size where the person who builds this defines it. If you're looking to be creative and make your mark, we'd love to meet you.
What you will own
You'll own workplace operations end to end, starting with our office move. The mandate here is quality: walking into Knit's office should feel like walking into an Apple store or a well-run hotel; considered, calm, and clearly the work of someone who cares.
We spend much of our lives at work. You'll create a workplace experience that is pleasant, high-performing, and human.
What you'll do
  • Partner with the Head of Operations to execute an office move; on time and on budget
  • Make the office just work. Space, vendors, supplies, food, and IT logistics are frictionless, for both in person and virtual employees
  • Support day-to-day People Operations activities, including employee onboarding and offboarding, support requests, IT and equipment coordination, and other operational needs throughout the employee lifecycle
  • Own onboarding logistics so every new hire's first week sets a warm and high-performing tone
  • Be the first line for logistical and IT needs. You don't need to be an IT pro, but you can troubleshoot and escalate as needed
  • Build community. Build connection between our in-person and remote employees
  • Run the social calendar. You'll host at least one social event a month, spanning different formats (not just happy hours)
  • Build systems to automate manual work
About you
  • A high level of care and detail-orientation
  • A systems thinker. You'd rather build the process once than do the task fifty times
  • A creative community builder
  • Comfortable with ambiguity - you'll shape much of this role yourself
  • Experience owning workplace, office, or people operations at a growing company.
  • An office move or build-out is a strong plus
  • Technically proficient with tools like Google Suite, Slack, and Rippling
Benefits
Upon joining the Knit team, you will receive a competitive salary, plus stock options, healthcare (medical, dental, and vision), and additional coverage, a company laptop and one-time, onboarding technology stipend, a 401(k) with company match, flexible time-off, hybrid working, catered lunch, and more!
Salary
In accordance with New York pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $90,000 - $110,000. Final compensation will be determined based on the candidate's level, experience, and qualifications upon joining Knit.
Our Company Values
We are the Championship Team. This means we:
  • Are 1% better every day: We approach situations with a growth mindset and ask, "How can we make the business better?" and "What would it take?"
  • Play to win: We set audacious goals and push ourselves to achieve them with a bias towards action (When we see a need, we take initiative, and hold ourselves accountable to seeing it through).
  • Keep the main thing the main thing: Identify what has the biggest impact and prioritize to focus on it.

In accordance with New York pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is listed below. Final compensation will be determined based on the candidate's level, experience, and qualifications upon joining Knit.
Salary Range
$90,000-$110,000 USD
