Job description

We are looking for a passionate, strategic, and experienced Global Benefits Manager to lead the design, implementation, and ongoing management of our global benefits, wellness, and leave programs. In this critical role, reporting to the Head of Total Rewards,you will ensure that employees around the world have access to competitive, compliant, and meaningful benefits that support their holistic well-being and enhance the overall employee experience.

In this high-impact role, you will bring deep expertise in global benefits and leave administration, thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, and help scale programs that reflect our values and support our diverse, global workforce.

What You'll Do:
  • Global Strategy Execution: Evolve and execute DO's global benefits strategy to provide market-competitive offerings (Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability, Life, Retirement, Perks, and Wellness) that attract and retain top talent
  • Financial Modeling and Analytics: Perform regular utilization and cost analyses to proactively manage healthcare spend and ensure optimal fiscal discipline; build predictive financial benefits models to provide data-guided recommendations to leadership during annual budgeting cyclesย ย 
  • Vendor and Broker Management: Partner with international brokers and vendors to negotiate competitive renewals, establish strong service level agreements, stay ahead of emerging global trends, and maintain high compliance standardsย ย 
  • Leaves & Accommodations: Optimize global leave of absence and accommodation management by automating workflows and partnering with third-party administrators to navigate complex local leave laws seamlesslyย 
  • Open Enrollment and Communication: Lead global open enrollment strategies and communication campaigns to maximize plan literacy, deliver seamless sign-up experiences, and drive high employee engagementย ย 
  • Cross-Functional Compliance: Collaborate with Legal, Payroll, and Finance teams to maintain rigorous compliance with evolving international labor laws, and statutory benefits, and reporting requirements
What You'll Add to DigitalOcean:
  • Global Expertise: 8+ years of progressive benefits experience within global, fast-scaling, publicly traded tech companies, with specific expertise across the US, Canada, Europe, India, and Pakistanย ย 
  • Financial Acumen: Proven ability to manage multi-million dollar benefits budgets, evaluate medical funding arrangements (including transitioning from fully insured to self-funded models), and execute cost-containment strategies without sacrificing employee experience
  • Advanced Analytical Skills: Expert command of Excel/Google Sheets (pivot tables, complex logic formulas, xlookup/vlookup, data modeling) with an uncompromising commitment to data integrityย 
  • High Relational Intelligence: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to listen actively to diverse employee needs and translate complex plan mechanics into clear, empathetic narrativesย ย 
  • Proactive Mindset: A self-starting approach with a natural appetite for process efficiency, automation, and leaving programs better than you found themย ย 
  • Preferred Qualifications: Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) designation (or progress toward it) and hands-on experience with Workday Benefits are highly preferred
Compensation Range:ย 
  • $116,000 - $145,000
