Job description

Position: Infrastructure Automation Engineer (41589)
Location: REMOTE
Description:
You will be an integral part of the Jira Platform team and will be expected to engage with other team members working on Jira Infrastructure design, support, and troubleshooting.
Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for managing and maintaining existing Cloud Infrastructure on AWS and its connections with outside systems.
  • Automating the existing processes to eliminate any manual activity like logs backup, patching of EC2 servers/ RDS Instance.
  • Responsible for monitoring the health of the system and putting mechanisms in place that notify in case of any failure (alarms, performance insight, SNS and email) and then bring the system back to normal to avoid any service interruption.
  • Enhancing and optimizing existing processes to make sure JIRA is resilient, highly available and serviceable such as making use of services that are serverless (Lambda) to minimize the cost, decrease operational management and loosely coupled system.
  • Monitor vulnerability findings for servers, databases, file systems and patch them according to Client's patch policies
  • Exploring new options/ services that can improve existing infrastructure by adding additional capabilities while reducing the cost.

Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of relevant experience
  • Hands-on experience with one of the major cloud providers (AWS preferred, GCP or Azure)
  • Infrastructure Automation experience - Strong scripting skills (shell scripting)
  • Strong network troubleshooting knowledge and experience
  • Uses automation, system tools, open-source solutions, observability and 'security first' principles in daily work
  • Should have working experience with one of the programming languages: C, C++, Python, Java
  • AWS certification preferred
  • Knowledge/experience supporting Jira a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering or information technology or equivalent experience
