About the Role

A Fabrication Source Engineer plays a critical role in bridging design, sourcing, and production from Tate and its Suppliers. They ensure that raw materials, components, and assemblies are acquired effectively, meet quality standards, comply with specifications, and help support procurement on schedule. This position requires a combination of engineering expertise, project management, and familiarity with fabrication technologies. Travel would be 50% of the time

What You’ll Do

  • Sourcing and Procurement: Support and help identify materials, components, or subcontracted services needed for fabrication projects. Support Supplier quality team as SME for the processes of Welding.
  • Process Oversight: Support Tate partners to optimize fabrication processes, including welding, machining, assembly, and finishing.
  • Design Coordination: - Review of Tate Engineering drawings and CAD models to ensure manufacturability and material compatibility when it comes to packets for suppliers.
  • Supplier Interaction: - Interface with suppliers and subcontractors, Support proposals, and technical submittals and Interact and support Tate’s supplier quality team, if needed supervise contracted fabrication at supplier facilities.
  • Quality Control: Conduct SME inspections, enforce adherence to industry standards and internal Tate quality protocols
  • Project Management: Support Tate as a cross-functional teams’ member to achieve project milestones.
  • Continuous Improvement: - Recommend process enhancements, tooling upgrades, or automation solutions to increase efficiency and reduce manufacturing costs

Additional Expectation

  • Remain compliant with the Code of Conduct and Policies which includes the Kingspan Group Compliance Policy.
  • Ensure that all duties related to product compliance are adhered to in accordance with the Product Compliance Policy, Laws, Regulations, and market demands.
  • Responsible for all tasks to achieve compliance goals and demands of the Compliance Management System.
  • Must raise concerns related to the Compliance Management System to their supervisor, manager, or any member of the Leadership Team, or through the confidential whistle blower service.

What You’ll Bring

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Welding, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or Materials Science.
  • Experience: Typically, 3–8 years in fabrication, sourcing, or manufacturing engineering with exposure to metals structures, mass manufacturing and/ or specialized equipment
  • Certifications – AWS QC1 CWI if not willing to achieve (Optional but Preferred ASME, Lean Six Sigma, Project Management Professional (PMP), or equivalent).
  • Technical Skills- Knowledge of welding, machining, forming, and assembly techniques, including automation tools and CNC machinery.
  • Understanding of industrial standards - (ASME, AWS, ISO, AISC) and quality management systems
  • Soft Skills - Strong problem-solving and analytical skills for troubleshooting process issues
  • Effective communication and collaboration across cross-functional teams and external suppliers
  • Organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple projects simultaneously Leadership capabilities to mentor junior engineers and technicians
  • To Support the business and team this person must have the ability to evaluate supplier capabilities and implement quality inspections
