• Conduct in-depth mental health assessments for seniors, utilizing standardized tools and personal interviews to determine individual needs.
• Facilitate both individual and group counseling sessions focused on topics such as coping with aging, managing grief, and adapting to life changes.
• Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary healthcare team to create and implement personalized geriatric care plans that promote optimal mental health outcomes.
• Educate family members and caregivers about strategies to improve emotional well-being and enhance the quality of life for seniors.
• Provide grief and loss counseling, utilizing therapeutic modalities appropriate for addressing end-of-life issues.
• Design and implement cognitive stimulation programs to help improve mental acuity and engage seniors in meaningful activities.

The primary focus of this role is on elderly individuals facing various mental health challenges. This includes seniors dealing with issues such as depression, anxiety, grief from loss, and the psychological effects of aging. As our population ages, counselors play a pivotal role in enhancing their emotional resilience and overall health by delivering tailored therapeutic interventions.

• Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
• A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential.
• Minimum of four years of recent experience in geriatric counseling or a related mental health support role.
• A strong understanding of evidence-based interventions that effectively address emotional and mental health challenges in the elderly.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to connect empathetically with clients from diverse backgrounds.
• Knowledge of ethical and legal considerations in geriatric mental health counseling.

• Additional training or specialization in geriatric mental health and aging-related issues.
• Experience in delivering individual and group therapy to older adults, particularly in a remote setting.
• Familiarity with telehealth platforms and mental health assessment tools suitable for virtual sessions.
• Proven ability to conduct thorough assessments and formulate personalized treatment plans as per each client’s unique needs.

The salary for this role ranges from $80,000 to $100,000 annually, reflecting the level of experience and expertise the candidate brings to our team. Additionally, a sign-on bonus will be offered to successful candidates who join our organization.
