Job Description:

Elessent is already a market leader in providing replacement equipment and service to sulfuric acid alkylation units and intends to develop a complementary business line to serve the HF alkylation customer base.  The Technical Specialist – HF Alkylation will work alongside the Product Director – HF Alky M&R who is responsible for driving growth by developing and promoting Elessent as a maintenance and reliability equipment and service provider to HF alkylation units.  This role provides pivotal technical domain expertise for the expansion of our innovative maintenance and reliability solutions, directly impacting our market presence and revenue growth. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer-facing technical lead: Travel with the Product Director and/or regional BDMs to introduce Elessent’s HF offering and provide hands-on credibility grounded in prior operations/process experience.
  • Account stewardship: Develop and maintain assigned customer relationships; respond to requests for technical service; assist BD with technical support and scoping.
  • Refinery interface: Build strong working relationships with process and operations personnel to enable value and win work.
  • Opportunity discovery & scoping: Identify process/operational needs; work with internal teams to develop technical support plans and inputs for proposals/SoWs.
  • Offering development: Feed field learning into new/updated service and equipment offerings.  Provide lead reports to internal teams.  Collaborate on supply-chain options for HF equipment/services where relevant.
  • Continuous improvement: Be proactive in proposing technical solutions to customers and internally propose innovations/developments that improve safety, reliability, and cost.
  • On-site service delivery: Provide technical management and on-site support for aftermarket technical services and equipment as needed (inspections, troubleshooting, optimization).
  • Training & knowledge transfer: Plan and deliver operator/engineer training sessions (on-site or remote) for customers.  Provide training on HF alkylation to other Elessent technical resources (engineering, execution and technical service teams).
  • Startups, inspections & optimization: As necessary, lead on-site consultancy such as startups, process inspections, troubleshooting, unit optimization, and produce clear technical reports.
  • Support for portfolio of Elessent technologies on an as needed basis to include: STRATCO alkylation technology, BELCO wet gas scrubbing technology, IsoTherming hydroprocessing technology and MECS sulfuric acid technology.
  • Support the Management Team to establish and achieve annual goals and objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical or mechanical engineering preferred; 10+ years relevant experience.
  • Candidates with a Process Technology certificate/A.A.S. and 5+ years’ hands-on HF Alkylation operations experience (console + field) are encouraged to apply.
  • Knowledge of refining or chemical industry equipment supply chain networks preferred.
  • Strong time management and task prioritization skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills for directing and managing relationships with customers, business development managers, and internal teams.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and lead initatives.
  • Willing to travel up to 40% of the time.
