TheAir Quality Specialistsupports corporate and local teams in achieving environmental compliance, focusing on emissions reduction, regulatory adherence, and sustainability initiatives. This role involves managing permitting, conducting audits, developing emissions strategies, and collaborating with operations to implement best practices in environmental stewardship.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage air permitting and compliance program with a focus on Texas and Utah air regulations (AO, PBR, and standard permits for O&G facilities), federal standards (NSPS OOOOa/b/c), calculations, recordkeeping, notifications, and deviation reports

  • Conduct emissions inventories and calculations for VOCs, HAPs, and GHGs under Subpart W, using tools like AP-42 or ProMax

  • Manage preparation and review Title V permit applications, ensuring accurate emissions data, tracking and monitoring, and control technology assessments

  • Develop and implement emissions reduction projects, monitoring plans, and recordkeeping systems to meet Title V, state/EPA requirements, and Crescent initiatives

  • Manage emission programs with focus on GHG Subpart W and BLM/tribal emission inventories, including data collection and submissions for sources on Indian reservations (e.g., Uintah and Ouray)

  • Lead environmental initiatives, utilizing emissions tracking software and online dashboards, OGI Leak Survey and Repair programs, and OGMP-aligned ESG efforts

  • Conduct field inspections, compliance audits, and equipment inventory reviews to ensure adherence to NSPS OOOOa/b/c fugitive emissions standards

  • Train operations staff on compliance protocols and facilitate environmental compliance database improvements, adhering to state, federal, and tribal regulations and Crescent initiatives

  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate air quality best practices and support ESG reporting

  • Stay updated on regulatory changes (e.g., NSPS OOOOb/c, non-attainment) and advise on modifications for new or reconstructed sources

  • Support consent decree negotiations, including stakeholder coordination and development of mitigation strategies to meet VOC and methane reduction requirements

  • Manage consent decree compliance, including emissions calculations, reporting, and supporting operations to ensure timely and accurate adherence to regulatory requirements

Required Experience & Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.

  • 2-6 years of experience in oil and gas environmental compliance or consulting.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ProMax modeling, data analysis, and oil/gas production or remote sensing software.

  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills; experience with GHG verification and regulatory interpretation preferred.

  • Knowledge of tribal air quality regulations and EPA Regional Tribal Air Programs (e.g., Uintah and Ouray).

  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
