Job description

About the Role

Uber Eats is on a mission to deliver almost anything to our customers and we're looking for a visionary and strategic consumer experience leader to join our dynamic and fast-paced team. As a Lead Product Manager on the Uber Eats Consumer Experience team, you will be directly responsible for aspects of the core consumer journey for the Uber Eats app that serves millions of users globally every day and is growing fast. You'll set strategy and vision for the experience, align with cross-functional partners and executive leaders across the company, and lead a team responsible for driving that vision forward daily.

In this role, you'll work closely with Product Design, Data Science, Engineering, Business teams and other partners across Uber's businesses and geographies. You will lead with deep customer insights and empathy, relying on data and UXR to make informed decisions grounded in strong product intuition. You'll be both creative and bring deep expertise in consumer product to the table, as well as analytically rigorous, driving experimentation and knowing your metrics. You'll operate with an owner's mindset, obsessing over every detail of the end-to-end experience.

What the Candidate Will Need / Bonus Points

---- What the Candidate Will Do ----

  1. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Design, Data Science, Engineering and Ops, to identify opportunities to make the experience better and drive business outcomes.
  2. Distill the vision and strategy for the team and effectively present and communicate to cross-functional partners and executive leadership to generate enthusiasm and drive alignment.
  3. Develop and execute a roadmap of product initiatives, and implement data-driven experiments to improve the core consumer experience for Uber Eats.
  4. Anticipate and remove obstacles that slow down or prevent the team from delivering on operational, product, and business objectives.

---- Basic Qualifications ----

  1. 5+ years of Product Management experience delivering highly successful and innovative products with your fingerprints all over them. You should be familiar with systems thinking, analytics and experiment design, and have a solid understanding of software development processes and concepts.
  2. Leadership. Extensive experience setting and delivering on a strategy you crafted, where you were accountable for the outcomes.
  3. Customer obsession. You have a knack for taking on complex product challenges and finding elegant solutions that are delightfully simple for our users.
  4. Consumer product experience with a track record of delivering highly successful and innovative products with your fingerprints all over them.
  5. Experience building and leading scaled businesses, including ownership and optimization of business performance metrics.
  6. Experience leading geographically distributed cross-functional teams in an energetic, high-octane environment

---- Preferred Qualifications ----

  1. A "Driver" mindset. You are biased toward action, a great collaborator, a master disambiguator/simplifier, and constantly pushing toward clarity and delivery. You never hesitate to roll up your sleeves and tackle something hands-on.
  2. Attention to detail. Obsess over every pixel and underlying detail that drives the way users experience Uber Eats. No problem is too big or to small.
  3. Finger-tippiness with data. You find a way to get the data you need and whip it into an insightful story with no help. You know how to demonstrate this data to make decisions without getting stuck in analysis paralysis
  4. A high bar across the board -- from your own contributions to the people you work with, to the products you work on
  5. A true passion for Uber's mission, our products, and the company's hybrid technology/operations nature
  6. A never-ending desire to grow and learn
