Virtual Nurse- Centralized Nursing Services
Are you a Registered Nurse with recent acute Med Surg experience?
Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System is implementing an onsite Virtual Nursing Program utilizing virtual care equipment and technology. Virtual Nurses will work from a centralized onsite "bunker" location within the hospital and provide remote nursing support to bedside teams through secure audio/video communication.
Essential Responsibilities
- Complete admission history and documentation
- Perform medication reconciliation
- Assist with discharge education and discharge documentation
- Support patient and family education
- Assist bedside nurses with care coordination and administrative tasks
- Collaborate with physicians, case management, pharmacy, and bedside nursing teams
- Escalate patient concerns or changes in condition to bedside staff immediately
- Maintain patient privacy and HIPAA compliance during all virtual interactions
- Document accurately and timely within the electronic medical record
Equipment/Technology
- Utilize virtual nursing equipment and software
- Operate multiple monitors, cameras, headsets, and communication platforms
- Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and communicate concerns appropriately
Work Environment
- Position is located onsite in a designated virtual nursing operations center ("bunker")
- Sedentary work environment with prolonged computer and monitor use
- Frequent communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams through virtual platforms
Qualifications
- Current RN licensure in South Carolina
- Minimum of 2 years acute care nursing experience preferred
- Strong communication and critical thinking skills
- Proficient computer and EMR skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Previous experience in telehealth or virtual nursing preferred
