Job Description
Kaplan North America, the world leader in test preparation, is hiring Master's prepared nurses to join our New York travel teaching team. In traveling to different locations across the New York area to teach NCLEX preparation classes, this position offers an exciting opportunity to impact future generations of nurses by helping them succeed on their NCLEX exam. Locations of travel may include, but are not limited to, Staten Island, Newburgh, Albany, Syracuse, Queens, Rochester, and Manhattan.

Teachers receive paid training, teach from a pre-existing curriculum, and have access to ongoing development to build their teaching, presenting, and mentoring skills.
In addition to classroom instruction, Kaplan offers the opportunity to further support students through our virtual Kaplan Learning Integrated Coaching (KLIC) program. As a KLIC Coach, you will provide individualized guidance via email based on student progress through Kaplan materials. This is a separate, but related, role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Teach multiple in-person NCLEX preparation sessions at various locations throughout the year
  • Maintain high energy level and ability to engage students to ensure an excellent student experience
  • Effectively facilitate learning and learner development
  • Ability to learn our methodology and strategies quickly
  • Facilitate active and ongoing classroom management
  • Attend faculty meetings, professional development workshops and ongoing instructional meetings as required

ACADEMIC AND CLINICAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • MSN or BSN with Masters required
  • Current, unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse
  • 5+ years clinical nursing experience required
  • Previous teaching/training experience preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, presentation and leadership skills
  • Travel required- lead time, locations and dates will be determined based on business needs and availability
