Job description

NOTE: This position is available for remote work within the contiguous United States, with travel as required for business needs.
POSITION SUMMARY:
As a member of the Quality Assurance organization and reporting directly to the department head, this position holds a critical role in the development, implementation, and management of the NuScale ASME BPVC Section III Code program. The individual will lead the effective execution of the program, including active interaction with the Society, providing guidance and direction regarding NuScale Code activities, quality oversight, execution of witness and hold points, engaging with NuScale's Authorized Nuclear Inspector (ANI), and managing stamping activities, certification, and submission of relevant Data Reports. This position requires regular collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders, including supply chain and engineering teams, and is responsible for identifying innovative ways to utilize existing processes and workflows to achieve shared objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develops strategies and procedures to fulfill ASME BPVC III quality oversight and functional responsibilities, including creating processes necessary to support ASME certification (stamping) as required by the program.
  • Leads and supports the development of common platform processes that may be used to execute NuScale ASME BPVC III and other quality assurance responsibilities.
  • Provides comprehensive guidance and interpretation of ASME BPVC III requirements; assists Engineering and Supply Chain activities associated with the NuScale ASME BPVC III program.
  • Effectively influences decision-making within the Engineering and Supply Chain organizations to ensure the successful execution of the overall NuScale ASME BPVC III program.
  • Develops solutions to complex problems that require frequent creativity and innovation.
  • Exercises judgment within broadly defined policies and practices, using professional principles and company objectives to resolve complex issues.
  • Manages projects and completes tasks with minimal oversight from leadership, acts independently to determine or develop methods and procedures for new or special assignments, contributes to strategic discussions, and leads tactical initiatives.
  • Collaborates with management and other organizations on matters requiring coordination across organizational lines; coordinates and presents information regarding the NuScale ASME BPVC III program to the Society, Authorized Inspection Agency (AIA), code committees, and other stakeholders on behalf of NuScale.
  • Provides organizational leadership and mentors others in effective approaches and standards for solving problems in technical areas of expertise.
  • Reviews and approves new and revised ASME Section III Design Specifications.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES:
  • Education: Minimum of a B.S. or B. A. degree is required. A technical degree is preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of 10 years of commercial nuclear power plant industry experience required. In addition, a minimum of 8 years of experience in implementing an ASME BPVC III program, including certification of data reports and interface with Authorized Nuclear Inspectors is required. Demonstrated understanding and implementation of quality assurance regulations, standards and guidelines of ASME BPVC III is required with corresponding understanding of 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, and NQA-1 and other international regulations and standards.
  • Industry Requirements: Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.

Pay and Benefits:
The target base salary range for this position is $150,537 - $181,683 annually. The full base salary range is $134,964 - $211,098 annually.
