Job description

The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center, located in Atlanta, GA, has an opening for an Accounting Systems & Consolidation Coordinator.

Key responsibilities:
Plans, analyzes, coordinates, and evaluates the consolidation of ARC Command financial statements in accordance with Territorial Headquarters requirements and Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) standards.
  • Develops and implements processes and procedures at both the ARC Command and field levels to support financial consolidation and regulatory compliance.

  • Overseas fiscal year opening and closing activities.

  • Develop comprehensive training materials and coordinates and conducts training sessions to promote accurate, consistent, and effective use of all assigned accounting systems.

Financial Consolidation and Analyst Responsibilities
  • Plans, coordinates, and oversee the year-end consolidation of all ARC Command units to produce accurate and timely Command-wide and individual unit financial statements.

Accounting System Responsibilities
  • Serves as the primary liaison between Command Finance, Command Director of Field Accounting, and the Regional Accounting Services Specialists; oversees user access to Command-wide accounting systems; and coordinates requests to add or remove bank accounts within the accounting database.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
  • Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
  • Work requires travel and overnight stays throughout the Southern Territory and can include travel to locations outside of the Southern Territory.

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Business Administration or a related field, and
  • 4 years progressively responsible experience performing double-entry computerized accounting work with SAGE Intact accounting experience preferred, and one year of related training experience, and or
  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
