Job description

POSITION SUMMARY
The RN - Clinical Training Specialist trains new and current team members to support success in the delivery of quality care and services to residents. The RN - Clinical Training Specialist champions the company's Mission of Residents First in Everything We Do.
Position is community based. Depending on point of origin, overnight travel may be required. No on-call required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct training of relevant courses, including, but not limited to, Care Skills, Medication Administration, use of the electronic health record/e-MAR, and state specific content.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Clinical Education and Regional Directors of Clinical Services regarding the delivery and scheduling of training in support of community training needs and established training calendars.
  • Provide input to the Director of Clinical Education and Clinical leadership regarding existing or proposed training curriculum.
  • Evaluate training efficacy through the review and audit of trainee retention and application of training content. Identify and recommend enhancement of training content and delivery, as needed.
  • Measure required training compliance through record review.
  • Utilize effective adult learning principles to promote increased trainee understanding and delivery of quality care and services to residents.
  • Maintain proficiency in company policies and procedures associated with clinical and resident care as well as the state and federal laws that govern assisted living.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to professional development and lifelong learning.
  • Champion hospitality and customer service delivery to residents, families, and visitors.
  • Potential overnight travel required up to 50% of the time. (Note, this may vary based on home location.)
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • RN license required. Associate degree or Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Hold or obtain, and maintain in good standing, registered nurse license(s) in the state(s) in which training will be conducted, e.g., WI, MN, and/or others as applicable.
  • Hold or obtain, and maintain in good standing, certifications for training on applicable state specific programs, e.g., Wisconsin Community-Based Residential Facility (CBRF).
  • 2-5 years of experience working as a registered nurse in a long-term setting.
  • Previous experience as a nurse trainer preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication and the ability to present effectively to small and large
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team

WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Will work in a healthcare environment with potential exposure to infectious diseases transmitted via blood and bodily fluids and respiratory droplets.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • While performing the duties of the job, the employee will perform activities that will require lifting of objects up to 35 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
