Job description

Travel Medical Assistant

Bring preventive healthcare directly to patients' homes across Idaho. In this field-based Medical Assistant role, you'll move beyond the exam room to complete meaningful, unrushed wellness visits that help seniors, families, and children stay healthier, more independent, and better connected to care.

Opportunity

This is a full-time, weekday travel role based initially in Canyon County, ID, with statewide travel throughout Idaho as patient needs require. You'll focus on preventive care-not urgent care-by visiting patients in their homes and completing wellness-focused visits using modern EMR tools.

If you're a hands-on Medical Assistant who enjoys independence, patient connection, and work that gets you out into the community, this role offers a clear purpose and strong support.

What You Will Own
  • Travel daily to patient homes to conduct in-home preventive care visits
  • Complete Annual Wellness Visits, Medicare wellness visits, and Well-Child Visits
  • Support seniors, families, and children in a home-based care setting
  • Build meaningful patient relationships through focused, unrushed visits
  • Document each visit accurately using modern EMR tools
  • Help identify health concerns early and improve access to care across Idaho communities
  • Represent a professional, patient-centered care model while working independently in the field
What Makes You a Strong Fit
  • 1+ year of Medical Assistant experience
  • Medical Assistant credential, certification, diploma, or equivalent qualification
  • Hands-on clinical Medical Assistant experience
  • Comfort traveling daily to patient homes
  • Reliable vehicle and valid driver's license
  • Willingness to travel statewide throughout Idaho as needed
  • Ability to work independently in a mobile, field-based environment
  • Interest in preventive care and community-based patient support
Nice-to-Haves
  • Experience conducting Annual Wellness Visits
  • Experience conducting Well-Child Visits
  • Prior home visit, mobile care, field-based care, or community health experience
  • Familiarity documenting visits in an EMR system
Compensation

The expected total compensation range is USD 31 Hourly.

Schedule, Location & Travel
  • Full-time schedule
  • Monday-Friday
  • 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Field-based home visit role
  • Home visits start in Canyon County, ID
  • Travel may extend throughout Idaho based on patient needs
Why This Role Matters

Your work helps patients receive preventive care where they are most comfortable: at home. By completing wellness visits, documenting findings, and supporting early identification of health concerns, you'll help improve access to care for communities across Idaho.
