This position provides critical support totheCenter forInclusiveTransition,Education, andEmployment's(CITEE)research and grant initiatives through comprehensive data management, project coordination, and cross-project operational support. The roleassistsin design, development, testing, debugging,operating, and troubleshooting of software and applications to support information technology business operationsthat strengthen CITEE's partnerships across local, regional, and state communities. The position reports to the CITEE Research and Data Manager, with secondary reporting to theData Engineerdepending on project needs. The individual in this role will foster effectivedata collection, streamline data processes, andensureongoing digitalaccess to CITEEreports,programsand services fora variety ofaudiences.This is a full-time, fixed term terminal academic staff position with renewal expected based on funding.

Software/Application Development/Maintenance (90%)

  • Reviews application design specifications, codes new applications, and makes enhancements to existing applications

  • Tests and debugs programs, and prepares systems test data

  • Prepares program documentation and training requirements

  • Develops ormodifiestechnical specifications for low-complexity projects using disciplined software development practices

  • Maintains and troubleshoots applications, systems, or websites

  • Implements data structure and systems performance strategies

  • Providesend-to-end backend and frontendsupport and development offeatures for an internal database system used by a 15-person administration team to manage interview scheduling and client records

  • Examines current architecture toimplement missing features such as logging, API integration, security control, and remote operation protocols.

  • Developsdocumentation librarytoconveystechnical information for all system technologies and functions within the CITEE frontend and backend system.

  • Manages a client-side issue tracker that routes bug reports directly to the engineering team.

  • Implements data visualizations for CITEE reporting.

Other Activities(10%)

  • Manages multiple priorities,deadlines, and completing taskseffectively and efficiently with attention to detail.

  • Completesrequiredpaperwork and reportsin a timely manner.

  • Complies withall University, partner agency, state and federal regulations, confidentialityrequirementsand compliance regulations.

  • Participates in all required team meetings, including virtualand oncampus meetings, and other CITEE projects as assigned.

  • Provide support to CITEE leadership and the institution as designated.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • ABachelor'sdegree in an area related to the duties of the position.
  • At least one (1) year of experience as a full-stack engineer or similar position.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A valid driver's license and/or ability to travel and meet driver authorization for the State of Wisconsin and /or travel independently is preferred.
  • Experience across common platforms, including thoseutilizedto perform position tasks successfully.
  • Experience in examining and adapting to legacy platforms used by internal and external partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively with individuals and groups from a variety of backgrounds and cultures.

Physical Requirements/Additionalinformation:

  • This position is classified asfullyremote, with periodic need to travel to UW-Milwaukeecampus locations to attend meetings or complete other tasks.
  • Travel requirement is less than 25% of the time.
