What is a Remote Neurologist job?

A Remote Neurologist evaluates, diagnoses, and treats neurological conditions using telemedicine technology. They consult with patients via video calls, phone, or digital platforms, providing expert guidance on conditions such as migraines, seizures, multiple sclerosis, and more. Remote Neurologists may also review imaging, collaborate with other healthcare providers, and prescribe treatments or lifestyle recommendations. This role offers flexibility and expanded access to specialized neurological care, benefiting patients in underserved or distant locations.

What does a typical workday look like for a Remote Neurologist?

As a Remote Neurologist, your day often involves conducting virtual consultations with patients, reviewing medical histories, interpreting neuroimaging, and collaborating with referring physicians to develop comprehensive care plans. You’ll routinely document findings in electronic health records and may participate in virtual case conferences or educational sessions with colleagues. Working remotely offers flexibility, but it also requires strong self-motivation and excellent time management to handle a steady stream of appointments and follow-up tasks. The virtual setup facilitates collaboration across diverse healthcare teams, and you’ll have opportunities to focus on patient care while minimizing commute time.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Remote Neurologist position, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Neurologist, you need board certification in neurology, extensive clinical experience, and the ability to evaluate complex neurological conditions through telemedicine platforms. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHRs), secure telehealth software, and digital imaging systems is typically required. Strong communication, empathy, and problem-solving skills are essential for building patient rapport and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams remotely. These competencies ensure accurate diagnoses, effective treatment planning, and high-quality patient care despite the distance.

Job description

We’re looking for board-certified or board-eligible neurologists to join a fully remote locum tele-neurology team serving hospitals and emergency departments across multiple states. This role is ideal for physicians who want flexible, supplemental work or a long-term telemedicine practice. You’ll provide real-time neurologic consultations for acute and inpatient cases—including stroke alerts—using a secure, enterprise-level telemedicine platform with full clinical and technical support.

What you’ll like about this role

  • 100% remote telemedicine—work from home
  • Competitive pay: $210.000 to $220.000 per hour
  • Locum engagement with options for long-term assignments
  • Flexible full-time and part-time scheduling
  • Day, evening, overnight, and weekend shifts available
  • Malpractice coverage provided
  • Credentialing and licensing support; additional state licenses paid as needed

Key responsibilities

  • Provide remote neurologic consultations to emergency department and inpatient teams
  • Evaluate acute stroke cases and advise on thrombolytic or endovascular treatment decisions
  • Review imaging and clinical data in real time
  • Collaborate with on-site clinicians to develop and implement treatment plans
  • Document encounters accurately in the electronic medical record

What we’re looking for

  • MD or DO degree
  • Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in Neurology
  • Stroke experience preferred; vascular neurology experience is a plus
  • Active U.S. medical license required; multi-state licensure strongly preferred (we provide licensing support)
  • Licenses in hand preferred for FL, NY, MA, TX, AR, AL, IA, AZ, CA
  • Comfort managing acute neurologic cases remotely

If you enjoy high-impact acute care, flexible scheduling, and working with a strong support team, this tele-neurology opportunity could be a great fit.
