This position is structured as a remote role supported by our outpatient office in Edison, New Jersey. • Implement individualized therapy strategies tailored to meet the unique needs of each client, conducting comprehensive evaluations and assessments to inform treatment plans.
• Offer evidence-based therapeutic interventions through individual, group, and family sessions, addressing a wide range of mental health issues from anxiety and depression to substance use disorders.
• Utilize a variety of therapeutic modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), psychodynamic therapy, and solution-focused short-term therapy, to enhance the effectiveness of treatment.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to deliver holistic client care and contribute to integrated treatment plans.
• Maintain meticulous and accurate clinical documentation, ensuring compliance with all legal and ethical standards related to patient care.
• Engage in ongoing professional development through workshops, training, and research, staying current with advancements in mental health practices and trends.

This role primarily serves individuals and families facing significant barriers to mental health care. Our client population includes diverse backgrounds, ranging from children to adults dealing with various mental health challenges. As a counselor, you will create a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore their issues, work towards recovery, and achieve their personal goals.

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a closely related field is required to perform effectively in this role.
• Must hold active and unrestricted licensure as a Professional Clinical Counselor (LCPC) in the state of New Jersey.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in counseling, preferably within a clinical setting, is essential to provide effective support and treatment.
• Demonstrated understanding of legal and ethical standards in mental health counseling practices.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
• A proven capability to work within a healthcare team, ensuring collaborative patient care.
• Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) software and other relevant technologies is necessary for effective documentation and record management.

• Specialization in family therapy, couples therapy, substance misuse treatment, or trauma-informed care is highly valued and will enhance your candidacy for the role.
• Previous experience in community mental health settings or outpatient services is significantly beneficial.
