Description
DGR Systems, a growing premier technology consulting company, is actively seeking a Senior Network Engineer experienced in the architecture, design, and implementation of enterprise networks to join our highly competent team. The Senior Network Engineer will take on a leadership role in designing and implementing cutting-edge enterprise networks while providing crucial support to our networking practice. This is a client-facing role where the person would play both a pre-/post-sales role while performing as a technology professional.
This position requires an individual who is highly motivated, is a self-starter, and is team focused. The right individual has an in-depth knowledge of technical solutions and how they are deployed, is client-focused, and has excellent communication and presentation skills.
Responsibilities
  • Lead technical discussions to understand business requirements and translate them into functional specifications such as the creation of Statements of Work (SOW) and Bill of Materials (BOM) for clients.
  • Design, implement and transition firewalls, switches, access points, and other network solutions to meet the needs of customers.
  • Troubleshoots LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, routing, switching, VPN, firewall, and VoIP equipment, including a broad range of devices (Predominantly Fortinet).
  • Develop and maintain technical deliverables including network assessments, capacity planning, detailed design documents, implementation/test plans configuration templates and scripts.
  • Engage in peer review sessions to aid fellow engineers in optimizing the quality of their deliverables.
  • Perform root cause analysis of critical outage and incidents.
  • Maintain up-to-date industry certifications.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with network solutions.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with network switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
  • Professional or Expert level network certification is required. Fortinet FCSS, Fortinet FCP, Fortinet NSE 4-8
  • Professional or Expert level network certification is preferred. (Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto Networks, Aruba)
  • Preferred Aruba switching and AP experience.
  • Must have extensive experience designing, configuring, and managing enterprise-grade firewall solutions, with proficiency in network security architectures.
  • Must have an understanding of routing protocols and network technologies (e.g., eBGP, iBGP, OSPF, IPSEC, trace route, Netflow).
  • Must have expertise in LAN/WAN administration, including configuring DHCP, DNS, VLANs, NAT, wireless technologies, and switches, with strong proficiency in network security integration.
  • Required expertise in network engineering and security firewall architecture; proficiency with Zero Trust frameworks is a bonus.
  • Essential to author and adhere to defined network processes and procedures.
  • Should produce accurate network diagrams and detailed design documentation for implementation; proficiency with Visio or Lucidchart is highly desired.
  • Required to have expertise in architecting, designing, and troubleshooting complex LAN/WAN network solutions; proficiency with SD-WAN or cloud networking is preferred.
  • Essential to demonstrate experience designing and deploying multi-site network environments with VLANs, MPLS, SSL, and IPSEC.
