PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
Fresenius Medical Care is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Infrastructure System and Network Engineer to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining the IT infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability. This role involves configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting network and system components to support the daily operations of the business.
You will also work closely with the Cloud Operations team to ensure alignment of the secure design, development, deployment, and maintenance of our systems and applications.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Infrastructure Focus:
  • Monitor network performance and ensure network security.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, including connectivity, bandwidth, and performance problems.
  • Manage and maintain Windows and Linux servers, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
  • Install, configure, and maintain servers as needed (Windows, Linux, and other OS) and associated software.
  • Apply patches, updates, and service packs regularly to keep systems secure and up to date.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure system availability and reliability.
  • Supervise regular backups and when needed perform recovery processes to ensure data integrity.
  • Participate in regular security assessments and vulnerability management.
  • Collaborate with the security team to prioritize and remediate vulnerabilities in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with security policies and procedures.
  • Work closely with the Cloud Operations team to ensure seamless integration and support between on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Collaborate on cloud security, compliance, and architecture to ensure alignment with organizational goals.

Cloud Service Focus:
  • Manage and maintain infrastructure as a code (IaC) using tools like Terraform.
  • Ensure efficient operation and scaling of cloud infrastructure.
  • Monitor and optimize system performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Implement and manage automated monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions.
  • Support implementing DevOps strategies, processes, and tools to streamline the software development and delivery lifecycle.
  • Support the implementation, and maintenance of scalable and robust CI/CD pipelines.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, document, and enforce DevOps standards and best practices.
  • Identify and resolve bottlenecks and inefficiencies in the deployment process.
  • Work closely with development and operations teams to troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and deployment issues.
  • Collaborate with security teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and relevant security standards and best practices.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in DevOps and cloud infrastructure.
  • Analyze and resolve problems associated with servers, hardware, applications, and software.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 8 or more years of related experience.
  • Must have at least 4 years of experience in system and network administration.
  • Strong knowledge of network protocols, hardware, and software.
  • Experience with Windows and Linux server administration.
  • Proficiency in configuring and managing network devices (routers, switches, firewalls).
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, Cisco CCNA, Microsoft Certified: Windows Server) are a plus.

The rate of pay for this position will depend on the successful candidate's work location and qualifications, including relevant education, work experience, skills, and competencies.
Annual Rate: $122000 - $205000
