Job description

Job Overview:
We're looking for a seasoned IT Operations Team Lead who can balance effective people leadership with hands on technical expertise. In this role, you'll guide a team responsible for the reliability, scalability, and security of our hybrid infrastructure-spanning on premise systems and cloud environments-while partnering closely with engineering, security, and product teams to support our SaaS platform.
This is a role for someone who thrives in a fast moving environment, enjoys mentoring others, and isn't afraid to dive deep into complex systems. You'll shape operational strategy, champion best practices, and ensure our infrastructure evolves to meet the needs of a growing customer base.
Job Responsibilities:
People Leadership
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing IT Operations & Infrastructure team.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development planning.
  • Prioritize team workload, manage escalations, and ensure timely delivery of initiatives.
  • Partner with cross-functional leaders to align operational priorities with business goals.

Technical Leadership
  • Oversee the design, maintenance, and optimization of hybrid infrastructure (on-premise and cloud).
  • Serve as the technical escalation point for complex operational issues.
  • Drive cloud adoption and modernization initiatives, with a strong emphasis on AWS services.
  • Ensure high availability, performance, and resilience of production systems supporting our SaaS platform.
  • Drive incident response efforts and post-incident reviews, ensuring root-cause analysis and long-term remediation.
  • Implement and enforce infrastructure standards, automation, and best practices.

Operational Excellence
  • Manage infrastructure lifecycle, including capacity planning, patching, monitoring, and upgrades.
  • Collaborate with Security to maintain compliance, hardening, and risk mitigation.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement across the environment.
  • Support budgeting and vendor management for infrastructure-related tools and services.

Job Requirements:
  • Proven experience leading IT Operations, Infrastructure, or SRE teams.
  • Have sound hands-on background in systems administration, networking, and cloud technologies.
  • Experience managing hybrid environments with both on-premise and cloud infrastructure.
  • Solid understanding of SaaS operational requirements, including uptime, scalability, and security.
  • Proficiency with automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, scripting languages, CI/CD pipelines).
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Expertise with AWS services (EC2, VPC, RDS, IAM, CloudWatch, etc.).
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, Rancher).
  • Familiarity with ITIL practices or similar operational frameworks.
  • Background in compliance-driven environments (SOC 2, ISO 27001, etc.).
  • Experience with monitoring and observability platforms (Site24x7, Zabbix, Grafana, etc.).

What Success Looks Like:
  • A motivated, empowered team that consistently delivers high-quality operational outcomes.
  • A stable, scalable, and secure infrastructure that supports rapid product growth.
  • Reduced operational toil through automation and process improvements.
  • Clear communication and strong cross-team alignment on priorities and initiatives.
