Job description

Description PLEASE NOTE: This posting is for demonstration purposes only. Please do not apply as this is not a true job opening. Reporting to the Director, IT Operations and Information Security, the successful candidate will serve as the networking subject matter expert for all construction and networking projects by coordinating with vendors, campus customers, physical plant, and internal IT resources.

Additionally, this position is responsible for implementing, analyzing, and maintaining a secure and highly available network and communications infrastructure ensuring the standards and design of the college are implemented. The successful candidate will possess knowledge and experience managing network projects; ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects involving various stakeholders and vendors; and experience installing, configuring, and managing complex network systems and peripherals such as firewalls, routers, switches, wireless access points, security cameras, and VOIP phone systems. Examples of Duties Serves as the primary incident, request and network outage contact.

Provides proactive and reactive support for all TCTC network environments and hardware. Responds to and troubleshoots network problems and individual user hardware or software problems. Updates and tracks all network equipment inventory and life cycles.

Monitors the network. Serve as the networking subject matter expert for all construction and physical projects. Ensure standards and requirements are met by internal and external resources throughout the project process.

Create and maintain comprehensive project and network documentation, plans and reports. Coordinates with vendors to provide services, equipment, and maintenance on the colleges network environment to ensure the college maintains a reliable, secure and scalable network. Analyze, Install, configure, manage and maintain network and communication infrastructures, network hardware, software and associated peripherals as defined in the college's standards through small project requests.

Performs other duties as assigned. Typical Qualifications A bachelor's degree in information technology systems, computer science, or related field and 1 year experience in information technology systems or related area. Relevant experience may be substituted for bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.
