  • Support gas main replacement, new service installations, relocations, upgrades, and other distribution-related projects.
  • Perform pre-design and pre-construction site visits to verify existing conditions, gather field information, and support constructability.
  • Review site proposals, surveys, base maps, utility records, and project data to support design development.
  • Develop detailed design drawings from general project information, sketches, and field documentation.
  • Ensure designs adhere to applicable codes, standards, client requirements, project-specific procedures, and safety expectations.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, utility representatives, construction teams, and internal design staff.

  • Maintain and manage CAD files, templates, design models, and project records.
  • Employee may be required to perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Experience in gas distribution, utility design, civil design, or related drafting/design work preferred.
  • Strong experience using Computer-Aided Design software, such as AutoCAD, AutoCAD Map 3D, AutoCAD Civil 3D, or similar design tools.
  • Familiarity with CADWorx is a plus, but not required for this specific role.
  • Experience with client-specific utility design platforms or the ability to quickly learn new design software.
  • Ability to perform field visits, gather site information, and translate field conditions into accurate design documents.
  • Understanding of utility design standards, construction drawings, and project documentation.
  • Ability to work on a hybrid schedule in Green Bay, WI.

Preferred Experience

  • 3–5+ years of experience in gas distribution, utility design, or related drafting/design work preferred.
  • Entry-level candidates with strong CAD skills and an interest in utility or gas distribution design will also be considered.
  • Experience supporting natural gas utility clients.
  • Knowledge of gas distribution systems, mains, services, valves, tie-ins, utility records, and construction documentation.
