Job description

Consolidated Cooperative, a member-owned organization celebrating 90 years of enhancing the quality of life for our members and communities in Central Ohio, is seeking a Gas Driver/Service Technician to help deliver safe, reliable propane and natural gas services. What You'll Do
  • Deliver propane to local residential, agricultural, and commercial members (home every night).
  • Install, maintain, inspect, and service propane tanks, regulators, meters, and service lines.
  • Perform leak tests, pressure checks, inspections, and system troubleshooting.
  • Respond to propane and natural gas service calls and odor reports.
  • Assist with natural gas installations, repairs, and emergency response activities.
  • Operate and maintain propane delivery trucks, service vehicles, and specialized equipment.
  • Utilize technology and GIS tools to support operations and documentation.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation and outage restoration efforts.
  • Promote a strong culture of safety while providing outstanding member service.

Education, Experience & Qualifications
Required:
  • Class B CDL with HazMat and Tanker endorsements and a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain D.O.T. Operator Qualification (OQ) certification and C.E.T.P. certification (training provided).
  • Ability to develop and maintain a working knowledge of propane and natural gas operations, standards, tools, and equipment.
  • Ability to participate in after-hours work and an on-call rotation.
  • Must reside within 30 minutes of the reporting location for on-call responsibilities.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to effectively utilize tools, equipment, and technology.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Accuracy, self-motivation, and emotional intelligence.

Preferred:
  • Three or more years of propane industry or closely related experience.
  • Class A CDL.
  • Experience operating equipment such as mini-excavators, trenchers, vac trailers, or skid steers/Bobcats.

Physical Demands:
This position works outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions and requires operating vehicles, equipment, and tools. The position includes frequent walking, sitting, reaching, grasping, and handling materials and equipment; occasionally bending, twisting, and standing for extended periods; regularly lifting and moving up to 50 pounds; and occasionally pushing, pulling, or moving up to 100 pounds. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The role requires the sensory ability to detect natural gas odorant (mercaptan) or otherwise identify gas leakage through acceptable alternative means.
