Avella Behavioral Health Center is seeking a dedicated and skilled Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMFT, LPC, LCSW) to join our team in a full-time remote capacity. This position offers the flexibility of remote work, allowing you to engage with clients via teletherapy platforms while fostering a therapeutic environment from your chosen location. The work setting supports a collaborative approach to mental health care, providing the opportunity to connect with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including psychologists, social workers, and medical providers.

• Conduct initial mental health evaluations through detailed interviews and assessments to gather client history, symptoms, and needs.
• Design and implement personalized treatment plans that cater to the unique circumstances of individuals, couples, families, or groups based on comprehensive assessments.
• Facilitate engaging and therapeutic individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing various modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), narrative therapy, and mindfulness techniques to foster healing and growth.
• Monitor client progress consistently, adjusting treatment plans as necessary while ensuring clients are appropriately informed and involved in their recovery process.
• Collaborate effectively with other mental health professionals, including psychiatrists, medical doctors, and social workers, to provide integrated care and manage referrals.
• Engage in continuous follow-up with clients, particularly those transitioning to or from inpatient services, ensuring a smooth continuum of care.
• Assist family members and primary caregivers in understanding and managing the mental and behavioral challenges posed by loved ones undergoing therapy.

Our clients encompass a diverse population, including individuals facing anxiety, depression, trauma history, relationship issues, and addiction challenges. Your role as a mental health counselor will be vital in helping these clients navigate their struggles while promoting resilience and recovery through tailored therapeutic interventions.

• Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMFT, LPC, LCSW) in the state of Arizona.
• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
• Demonstrated proficiency with electronic health record systems, preferably AVATAR, to ensure effective documentation and patient management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong focus on empathetic listening and the ability to convey complex information effectively.
• Strong interpersonal skills, coupled with a genuine interest in the well-being of clients and their families.

• Prior experience as a mental health counselor with a focus on diverse populations and an understanding of co-occurring physical and emotional health conditions.
• Familiarity with the best practices outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) and knowledge of pharmacological treatments that may affect clients’ mental health.
• Experience in group therapy facilitation and community mental health initiatives.
