Remote Music Software information

What is remote music software?

Remote music software jobs involve working on the development, testing, or support of software used in music production, editing, or distribution, all from a remote location. Professionals in these roles might be software engineers, audio programmers, or technical support specialists who help create or maintain digital audio workstations (DAWs), plugins, or music streaming platforms. These jobs require a mix of technical skills in software development and an understanding of audio technology, and they offer flexibility to work from anywhere with internet access.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote music software developer?

To thrive as a Remote Music Software Developer, you need strong programming skills (often in languages like C++, Python, or JavaScript), a solid understanding of digital audio concepts, and experience with music production workflows. Familiarity with audio plugin standards (like VST, AU), DAWs (Digital Audio Workstations), and version control systems such as Git is typically required. Excellent problem-solving, self-motivation, and clear communication skills set top performers apart in remote, collaborative environments. These abilities ensure the creation of high-quality, user-friendly music software that meets industry needs and supports efficient remote teamwork.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals working in remote music software roles, and how can they be addressed?

Professionals in remote music software roles often encounter challenges such as coordinating across different time zones, ensuring effective communication with team members, and managing collaborative projects without in-person interaction. To address these, it's helpful to establish clear communication channels using tools like Slack or Zoom, set regular check-ins to align on project goals, and utilize cloud-based version control systems for sharing and updating music files. Proactively seeking feedback and maintaining detailed documentation can also help keep the workflow smooth and collaborative.

Influur

Miami, FL • On-site, Remote

Internship

Posted 7 days ago

Job description

Influur is redefining how advertising works - through creators, data, and AI. Our mission is to make influencer marketing as measurable, predictable, and scalable as paid ads - and we're building the tech that powers it. Backed by top-tier investors and trusted by global brands, we're scaling fast across music and culture.

We're looking for a young talent ready to go all in. This is an internship built for someone who wants real ownership over the quality of a product people actually use, not a shadowing exercise. You'll test our modern Next.js application end-to-end and
have a direct line to the engineers shipping it.
What you'll do:
Test new features, bug fixes, and complete user workflows
Perform functional, regression, integration, responsive, usability, and exploratory testing
Validate forms, authentication, permissions, APIs, database operations, and third-party integrations
Identify UI, UX, responsiveness, consistency, and accessibility issues
Test across browsers, devices, screen sizes, user roles, and edge-case states
Reproduce and document bugs with clear steps, screenshots, recordings, and technical details
Verify fixes and check for regressions
Create test cases, QA checklists, and release-testing procedures
Help write and maintain automated tests for critical workflows
What we're looking for:
Basic understanding of web applications, APIs, authentication, and databases
Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive design
Familiarity with React or Next.js
Experience with Postman, Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Jest, or Vitest
Strong attention to detail and an eye for good UI/UX
Ability to investigate, reproduce, and clearly document issues
Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows
Clear communication and a willingness to learn
Nice to have:
Basic SQL or PostgreSQL knowledge
Understanding of accessibility testing
Exposure to Jira, Linear, GitHub Issues, CI/CD, or Vercel
What We Offer
-An unpaid internship with a flexible duration of up to 3 months.
-A seat at the table as we redefine how the most iconic record labels, artists, and brands go viral (think Bad Bunny).
-Access to elite tools, AI copilots, and a team that builds daily at top speed.
-Remote work flexibility in a fast-paced startup.
We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses and identifying potential inconsistencies or verification signals in application materials based on available information. These tools assist our recruitment team but do not replace human judgment. Final hiring decisions are ultimately made by humans. If you would like more information about how your data is processed, please contact us.
