Job description

Grow an Established Territory in Southern California with an Industry Leader

Fieldpiece is a privately held, global leader in professional HVACR tools and test instruments. For more than 35 years, we've designed innovative products that HVACR professionals rely on every day to diagnose, repair, and maintain critical systems.

Named one of the Best Places to Work in Southern California for four consecutive years, we're committed to developing great products, building strong customer relationships, and investing in our people. If you're passionate about growing a territory, building long-term partnerships, and making a measurable impact, we'd love to meet you.

Why This Role?

As a Territory Sales Representative, you'll own an established sales territory covering the San Fernando Valley and Los Angeles areas.  You’ll be responsible for driving continued growth by building and nurturing relationships with distributor partners, branch managers, counter sales teams, educators, and HVACR professionals to increase product awareness, strengthen customer loyalty, and increase sales throughout your territory.

While you'll inherit a solid customer base, this isn't an account maintenance role. You'll identify new opportunities, expand existing relationships, support contractor demand, and help distributors grow their Fieldpiece business year after year.

This is a remote, field-based position where you’ll reside within the San Fernando/Los Angeles territory to effectively support distributor partners and customers.  Travel is an essential part of the role and typically includes 2–3 overnight trips per week to visit distributors, contractors, technical schools, and industry events.  You will have a branded Fieldpiece vehicle to use.

What You'll Do

  • Own the growth and success of your assigned sales territory.
  • Build strong relationships with distributors, contractors, educators, and key customers.
  • Grow revenue by expanding existing business and developing new opportunities. b
  • Deliver product training, demonstrations, and sales support that drive customer engagement and demand.
  • Develop territory plans, identify market opportunities, and execute strategies to grow market share.
  • Manage your sales pipeline, customer activity, and territory performance using CRM tools.

What Makes This Opportunity Different

  • Own your territory and have a direct impact on revenue growth with the support of a strong team including technical trainers, customer service, and sales leaders.
  • Represent an industry-leading brand with innovative products customers genuinely value.
  • Build long-term partnerships instead of focusing on transactional sales.

In Your First Year, You'll Likely

  • Become the trusted Fieldpiece expert for distributors, contractors, and educators for your territory and identify new opportunities to expand sales.
  • Build strong relationships with distributor partners and key customers through product training, merchandising, and sales support.

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of successful outside B2B sales experience managing and growing a sales territory through distribution channels.
  • Experience in the HVACR industry or a closely related industry that sells through the same distributor network, such as professional tools, test & measurement, electrical, plumbing, industrial, or building products.
  • Proven ability to build long-term customer relationships while identifying and developing new business opportunities.
  • Experience delivering product training, demonstrations, or sales presentations to customers or distributor partners.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and consultative selling skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and manage a territory with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with CRM systems such as Salesforce or Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout the assigned territory.

Bonus Points If You Have

  • Experience working for a manufacturer selling through distributors.
  • Existing relationships with HVACR distributors, contractors, or technical schools.

Why You'll Enjoy Working at Fieldpiece

  • As a privately held company, we invest for the long term—in our people, our products, and our future. That means we can focus on innovation, continuous improvement, and building lasting careers rather than chasing short-term results.
  • Represent products that are recognized as best-in-class throughout the HVACR industry.
  • Enjoy the autonomy to manage your own territory while being supported by an experienced and collaborative team.

Benefits & Perks

We believe great work starts with supporting our employees. That's why we offer a competitive total rewards package designed to promote your health, financial well-being, work-life balance, and professional growth.

  • Competitive base salary with annual bonus opportunity
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • 401(k) with company match and immediate vesting
  • Generous paid time off and paid holidays
  • Hire to Retire philosophy - Individual Development Plans for everyone and a commitment to support career development
  • Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), Health Savings Accounts (HSA), and Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • Music program – music rooms in all US offices with onsite guitar, piano, and voice lessons in California (classes can be streamed for other offices)
  • Recognition programs, launch parties and team building events to share successes
