Job description

Emory University is a leading research university that fosters excellence and attracts world-class talent to innovate today and prepare leaders for the future. We welcome candidates who can contribute to the excellence of our academic community.

Become a part of something special. Emory University is a leading academic institution that promotes excellence and attracts world-class talent. Emory University School of Medicine’s Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences is committed to fostering a culture that is healthy and sustainable, and a supportive environment for our people to thrive throughout their careers. We welcome candidates who can contribute to the excellence of our community across our clinical, educational, and research missions.

Description:

The Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences at Emory University School of Medicine is seeking a full-time Radiologist to read evening emergency department and inpatient work. Position opening is for expansion due to increased volume, and eligible for remote work.

  • This evening position rotates 1 week on (7 days, 9-hour shift, 6p-3am) and 2 weeks off (inclusive of recovery, vacation, CME, academic). This equates to 121 clinical shifts per year. 17 weeks of remote clinical evenings per year! Remote from anywhere in the USA except New Jersey, Hawaii, or Alaska.
  • This evening radiologist will focus their clinical care exclusively at one of the Southeast’s busiest Level 1 trauma centers (Grady Memorial Hospital), providing interpretations in conjunction with trainees.
  • The primary clinical scope will involve chest and abdominal imaging. Although the scope can be 100% abdominal and chest imaging, if candidates prefer, they will be able to read other emergency imaging exams. A separate evening neuroradiologist would be responsible for neuroradiology work.

Candidates should possess strong clinical skills, highly function in the fast-paced, time-sensitive emergency setting and work well in a collaborative environment.

Candidates should be prepared to participate in both the clinical and non-clinical divisional activities, including education and trainee supervision. There are opportunities for additional extra duty clinical work for additional salary if desired.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Applicants must be ABR Board-certified/eligible and eligible to obtain an unrestricted Georgia medical license.
  • Candidates with subspecialty training or emergency imaging experience are desired.
  • Faculty rank will be commensurate with experience and accomplishments.

NOTE: Tasks related to this position can be performed remotely with only occasional visits to an Emory University location.  Eastern (EST) time zone business hours may apply.  Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.  Emory does not approve as a primary work location in the following states; NJ, AK, and HI, any U.S. Territories or outside of the United States.
