Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations for clients, documenting findings from initial consultations through treatment completion.
  • Create and implement tailored treatment and recovery plans for individuals, couples, families, and groups based on client's unique needs and circumstances.
  • Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing evidence-based practices to support client growth and recovery.
  • Regularly monitor client progress in accordance with established goals, making adjustments to treatment plans as necessary.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including psychologists, psychiatrists, and social workers, to develop holistic intervention strategies.
  • Manage client referrals effectively, ensuring clients receive the appropriate services as required.
  • Provide follow-up care by coordinating with psychiatrists and attending physicians for clients requiring hospitalization.
  • Educate and support family members and primary caregivers, helping them understand and manage the mental health challenges faced by their loved ones.
  • Identify potential barriers to recovery and employ preventive measures in therapeutic practice.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Our services cater to a diverse range of patients, including individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, addiction, and various emotional or behavioral issues. The ability to empathize with and adapt to the varying needs of our clients is paramount. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, you will apply your expertise to help clients navigate their challenges and promote healthier coping mechanisms.

Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field is required; however, a Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is preferred.
  • Current and valid licensure as an LCMFT, LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW-C in the state of Kansas.
  • Successful completion and passing of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
  • Strong familiarity with psychotherapy techniques, evidenced by previous experience as a mental health counselor.
  • Proficient in using electronic health record systems, specifically AVATAR.
  • Keen understanding of co-occurring physical and emotional health conditions, including addiction disorders.
  • Awareness of the best practices recommended by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
  • Solid foundation in understanding the impacts of pharmacological treatments recommended by healthcare providers.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities.
Preferred Experience
  • A minimum of two years of clinical experience in a mental health counseling setting.
  • Experience in specialized areas such as addiction recovery, trauma-informed care, or family therapy.
  • Previous engagement in collaborative care models and familiarity with multi-disciplinary teams.
