This full-time remote position in a school setting is ideal for a professional who is passionate about enhancing the lives of students and their families through compassionate social work practices. The selected candidate will engage directly with clients to provide critical assessments, counseling, and support services, playing an essential role in promoting mental wellness and academic success.

About the Organization

Life and Mental Health Clinic, LLC is a provider of comprehensive mental health services, emphasizing the importance of psychosocial support within educational settings. Our clinic prioritizes a collaborative and inclusive approach to care, working with schools to identify and assist children and adolescents who face behavioral and emotional challenges. We understand that each student's needs are unique, and we strive to create targeted interventions that foster resilience and strengthen families.

Work Environment

This position offers a flexible remote work environment, allowing you to perform your essential duties from the comfort of your home. While primarily remote, you may occasionally visit local schools to foster connections and communicate directly with students and staff. The work setting facilitates a collaborative approach where you can actively participate with interdisciplinary teams of educators, healthcare professionals, and caregivers, ensuring a holistic approach to student support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of each student's psychosocial needs, examining emotional, social, and academic factors that may affect their well-being.
  • Develop individualized care plans in collaboration with the student, their families, and school personnel, setting specific, measurable goals to enhance both well-being and academic performance.
  • Provide individual and group counseling sessions to students, addressing a variety of issues, including anxiety, depression, and behavioral problems.
  • Act as a liaison between students, families, and the school, ensuring effective communication and advocacy for the student's needs.
  • Facilitate workshops and support groups for parents and caregivers, equipping them with tools and resources to support their child’s mental health and educational needs.
  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records of all assessments, interventions, and outcomes in compliance with both state regulations and organizational standards.
  • Participate in regular team meetings to discuss cases, review strategies, and coordinate ongoing support services.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in social work practices and educational policies to ensure that all interventions are evidence-based and effective.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This role focuses primarily on students in a school environment, including children and adolescents dealing with behavioral issues, emotional challenges, and situational crises. You will work closely with families to empower them in navigating their children's development and well-being, understanding the social dynamics and pressures faced in a school setting.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution is required.
  • Current and valid California state licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
  • At least two years of experience in a clinical social work role, preferably within school systems or community health settings.
  • Demonstrated understanding of child development, educational support systems, and mental health issues affecting youth.
  • Exceptional assessment and counseling abilities, with a focus on empathetic and culturally sensitive practices.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to foster relationships with students, families, and educational staff.
  • Proficient in utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation and reporting.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience implementing programs and interventions tailored to diverse populations within school settings.
  • Background in crisis intervention and conflict resolution will be highly advantageous.
  • Previous engagement with interdisciplinary teams comprised of psychologists, educators, and community service providers.
Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from USD 80,000 to 100,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition, we offer a competitive benefits package, which includes:

  • Comprehensive healthcare coverage, encompassing medical, dental, and vision insurance.

  • Generous paid time off (PTO), including vacation days and holidays to promote work-life balance.
