POSITIONSUMMARY

TheDirectorofSafetywillbuildandleadConcord'ssafetyfunctionfromthegroundup,establishingstandardizedprogramsacrossourwater,electric,andgasinstallationwork.Thisisasenior,executive-levelrolereportingdirectlytotheVPofOperations,withresponsibilityforprotectingadistributed,multi-statefieldworkforceandservingasConcord'ssafetyvoiceinclientandprimecontractorrelationships.

KEYRESPONSIBILITIES
  • LeadthestrategicdevelopmentandscalingofConcord'sSafetyorganization,buildingastandardizednationalsafetymanagementsystemsupportingElectric,Water,GasAMIinstallations,GridModernization,andallservicelines.
  • DesignandoverseeConcord'senterprise-widesafetytrainingandcompetencyprogram,includingonboarding,fieldqualification,instructor-ledtraining,OperatorQualification(OQ),andongoingcomplianceeducation.
  • Establishgovernanceforallsafetyprograms,policies,SOPs,JHAs,trainingmaterials,andcompliancedocumentation,ensuringstandardization,auditreadiness,andregulatorycompliance.
  • DevelopanddriveafieldleadershipaccountabilitymodelthatequipssupervisorsandmanagerstoconsistentlyreinforcesafeworkpracticesandstrengthenConcord'ssafetycultureacrossalloperations.
  • Leadincidentinvestigations,rootcauseanalyses,correctiveactions,andcontinuousimprovementinitiativestoreduceTRIR,DART,andoveralloperationalrisk.
  • ServeasConcord'sseniorsafetyrepresentativewithclients,utilitypartners,regulatoryagencies,andthird-partystakeholderswhilepartneringwithOperationsandexecutiveleadershiptoembedsafetyintobusinessperformance.
  • Travelregularlytoprojectsitesnationwidetocoachleaders,assessfieldperformance,ensurecompliance,andsupportsafe,consistentoperationalexecution.
EXPERIENCE
  • 10+yearsofprogressivesafetyleadershipexperience,includingaminimumof5yearsinaDirectororSeniorManagerrole.
  • Utilityconstructionorfieldservicesbackgroundrequired,withelectricdistribution/transmissionorAMI/meteringexperiencestronglypreferredastheprimaryfocus.
  • Waterand/orgasutilitysafetyexperienceisaplus.
  • Experiencemanagingsafetyprogramsforadistributed,multi-stateW2fieldworkforce(notasubcontractor-basedmodel).
  • DemonstratedknowledgeofOSHA1910/1926,DOTregulations,andelectricutility-specificstandards(NESC,OSHA1910.269).
  • Atrackrecordofbuildingorscalingasafetydepartmentorprogram,notsolelymaintaininganexistingone.
  • Experiencewithincidentinvestigation,TRIR/DARTreduction,andsafetyculturetransformation.
  • Priorexperiencesupportingnational,multi-regionfieldoperations,includingfrequenttraveltoremotecrewsandjobsites.
LOCATION&TRAVEL

ThispositionisremoteandopentocandidatesbasedanywhereintheUnitedStates.Regulartravel(approximately40–50%)isrequiredtosupportfieldpersonnelandactiveprojectsitesacrossthecountry.
