Remote Mining Administrator information

What is a remote mining administrator?

Remote Mining Administrators are professionals who manage the administrative operations of mining projects from a location away from the physical mine site. Their responsibilities typically include coordinating communication between on-site staff and off-site stakeholders, managing documentation, overseeing compliance and reporting, and supporting logistics and scheduling. By working remotely, they help streamline processes, ensure regulatory requirements are met, and facilitate efficient operation of mining activities without needing to be physically present at the mine. This role often requires strong organizational skills, familiarity with mining industry regulations, and proficiency with digital collaboration tools.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote mining administrator, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Mining Administrator, you need strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and experience in administrative processes, often supported by a diploma or certificate in business administration or a related field. Familiarity with industry-specific software such as SAP, Microsoft Office Suite, and mining operations management systems is typically required. Excellent communication, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work independently are standout soft skills for this position. These competencies ensure efficient coordination, accurate record-keeping, and effective support for mining operations from a remote setting.

How does a remote mining administrator typically collaborate with on-site teams and ensure smooth communication?

As a Remote Mining Administrator, effective collaboration with on-site teams is essential for streamlining operations and resolving issues promptly. You will frequently use digital communication tools such as email, instant messaging, and video conferencing to coordinate schedules, process documentation, and manage logistical support. Building strong relationships and maintaining clear, consistent updates with site supervisors and technical staff help prevent misunderstandings and ensure that administrative processes run smoothly. Proactive communication skills and familiarity with remote project management platforms are key to success in this role.

Coordinate technical testing, regression testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing.

Use Git-based source control and structured deployment practices to manage application changes. Produce solution designs, technical documentation, support procedures, and knowledge-transfer materials. Provide production support and perform root-cause analysis for recurring issues.

Mentor junior developers through code reviews, troubleshooting assistance, and development guidance. Partner with maintenance, engineering, operations, supply chain, finance, cybersecurity, and IT teams. Follow applicable safety, cybersecurity, regulatory, and change-management requirements.

Required Qualifications Approximately seven or more years of IBM Maximo development, configuration, implementation, or application-support experience. Recent hands-on experience supporting IBM Maximo Application Suite, preferably MAS Manage 8.x or 9.x. Strong knowledge of the Maximo Integration Framework. Experience developing REST API and JSON-based integrations. Programming or scripting experience with Python/Jython, Java, C#, JavaScript, or comparable technologies.

Strong SQL skills using Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, or DB2. Experience troubleshooting application, integration, database, and performance issues. Experience participating in Maximo implementations, upgrades, or migrations.

Understanding of the software development lifecycle, testing, source control, and production deployment practices. Ability to turn business requirements into maintainable technical solutions. Ability to explain technical issues to business users and nontechnical stakeholders.

Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, business systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional Maximo experience. Valid driver's license and ability to satisfy company driving requirements for occasional business travel. Preferred Qualifications Maximo Manage 9.x experience

Experience migrating from Maximo 7.6 or MAS 8.x to MAS Manage 9.x. BIRT report development experience. Experience with Maximo Mobile, Maximo Anywhere, or other mobile workforce solutions

Microsoft Power BI or Fabric experience. Git or GitHub source-control experience. Experience supporting asset-intensive organizations such as oil and gas, pipelines, midstream, utilities, manufacturing, transportation, mining, or chemicals.
