This role is fully remote, allowing you to work from the comfort of your home in New York City while providing telehealth support. You will be equipped with state-of-the-art tools and an IT infrastructure to ensure seamless technology experiences for both therapists and clients. • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for elderly clients, identifying their unique emotional and psychological needs.
• Provide both individual and group therapy sessions, addressing issues such as grief, depression, anxiety, and adjustment to aging.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including physicians and social workers, to create and implement tailored care plans that enhance the well-being of geriatric residents.
• Educate families and caregivers about effective strategies to support the emotional health of elderly individuals, promoting their quality of life.
• Facilitate cognitive programs and activities designed to stimulate mental functions and improve overall mental health.
• Offer grief counseling to clients and their families dealing with end-of-life issues, providing a compassionate space to process their feelings.

Your primary focus will be on elderly clients facing various mental health challenges, including those with substance use disorders and age-related emotional distress. You will particularly support seniors navigating through transitions, loss, and end-of-life issues, ensuring they receive the highest level of compassionate care tailored to their specific experiences.

• A Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution is required.
• Valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) designation in the state of New York.
• Specialization or additional training in geriatric mental health is highly desired.

• Experience working with elderly populations, specifically in delivering therapeutic interventions to address age-related psychiatric disorders.
• Background in addiction counseling is beneficial, as many clients may be experiencing substance-related issues alongside their mental health challenges.
• Proficiency in teletherapy practices and virtual counseling tools is preferred to effectively engage clients in a remote setting.

The salary range for this position is between USD 85,000 and 105,000 annually, which may be supplemented by competitive benefits including a sign-on bonus. Benefits include:
