• Perform comprehensive mental health assessments to identify the specific psychological needs of elderly clients, focusing on their history, symptoms, and underlying conditions.
• Deliver individual and group counseling sessions that address the emotional challenges of aging, such as isolation, grief, and transitions into assisted living.
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, including physicians and social workers, to formulate comprehensive care plans that address the unique needs of geriatric patients.
• Provide psychoeducation to families and caregivers, equipping them with strategies to enhance the emotional welfare and quality of life for their elderly loved ones.
• Facilitate grief counseling and support for clients and their families facing terminal illness or the death of a loved one, helping them process their emotions during these difficult times.
• Implement cognitive stimulation activities and mental health interventions aimed at promoting mental acuity and emotional resilience among older adults.

Your primary focus will be on providing mental health support to seniors, a demographic that often faces unique psychological challenges such as chronic illness, loss of independence, and social isolation. • A Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) certification in the state of Florida.
