Appian Software Developer/Integrator - TS/SCI
Xcelerate Solution is seeking an Appian Software Developer/Integrator. To design, develop, deploy, and operate a DoD-wide Tasking, Collection, Processing, Exploitation, and Dissemination (TCPED) workflow management platform for Open Source Intelligence (OSINT). As a TS/SCI cleared Appian Software Developer/Integrator on our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the platform is built to maximize mission outcomes, is user-friendly, and adheres to IC standards, policies, and practices.
We integrate off the shelf and new development efforts to sustain and enhance existing architecture and by leveraging cloud-based computing, artificial intelligence (Al), machine learning (ML) and cross-domain transfer systems to provide cutting edge requirements management, task coordination, data exploitation, enrichment, triage, and analytics capabilities to Defense and Intelligence Community members. Our program advances the state of the art in mission-focused big data analytics tools and micro-service development spanning the breadth of Agile sprints to multiyear research and development cycles. While the work is primarily conducted on-site at our client location in Bethesda, MD, we offer a flexible schedule and, occasionally, some tasks may be performed remotely. Percentage of remote work will vary based on client requirements/deliverables. Responsibilities:
  • Work with a team of system integration engineers to successfully deploy release candidates to production environment.
  • Participate in test, staging and production deployment.
  • Integrate container-based-Appian using Kubernetes, Rancher, Helm and other DevOpsSec integration tools
  • Assist in the maintenance of services and procedures for a big data pipeline which includes Kafka, Elasticsearch, and several in house written python/java micro services running on Kubernetes
  • Monitor automated system integration tests to identify failed modules and components
  • Manage individual project priorities, deliverables, and deadlines
  • Foster an environment of collaboration with the different team members in the goal of providing quality service and product to our customer

Minimum Requirement:
  • Bachelor's Degree and 8+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6+ years of prior relevant experience
  • Must possess an Active Top Secret/SCI clearance and ability to obtain and maintain a Polygraph
  • Experience with Appian
  • Experience with containerization
  • Development and/or scripting experience, especially Python and Bash
  • Experience with DevOps practices and tools including Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tools and practices, especially Gitlab or Jenkins
  • Experience with Agile practices
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Enthusiastic with the ability to work well on a team and a self-starter who can work on their own

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with systems at scale
  • Kafka or other message passing systems
  • Experience on a production/ enterprise system
  • Cloud infrastructure experience
  • Appian certification
  • Experience with any of the following technologies:
  • Java
  • Kubernetes monitoring, e.g., Prometheus/ Grafana
  • Appian integration with PostgreSQL or other DB
  • SALT for deployment automation
  • GraphQL
  • Elasticsearch, Kibana, and Logstash, specifically admin experience
  • Helm and Helmfile
  • Possess at least one DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II or higher certification, e.g., CCNA Security, CySA+, Security+ CE, SSCP, CISSP (or Associate)
  • Ability to obtain Privileged User Account (PUA) certification per DoD 8570 policy
