Job description

Title: Merchandise Specialist
Location: Fully Remote
Duration: 6 Months Contract (potential to extend)
Working Hours: Pacific Standard Time Zone

Description:
  • Review, prioritize, and manage requests from NMG buying offices, Distribution Centers, Vendors, and Internal/External partners to address business needs.
  • Enter and maintain information within the client's merchandising systems. This may include item or vendor setup, item or price maintenance, and/or purchase order management responsibilities.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with the team, Merchandise Operations leadership, and business counterparts to identify procedures and potential issues
  • Develop a deep knowledge of merchandising information.
Required:
  • Knowledge and experience with online, retail, merchandising, or product development processes, systems, and reporting
  • Exceptional time management skills; ability to prioritize multiple tasks to ensure all deadlines are met
  • Ability to work independently while supporting a team environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Technical & Data Skills:
  • Attention to detail for accurate item attribution, pricing, and SKU management
Microsoft Office Proficiency:
  • Excel - running macros, sorting data, copy/pasting data
  • Outlook - using email templates, communicating appropriately to varied audiences via email, signatures, quick response times, and full follow-up, shared mailbox experience
  • Teams - ability to navigate personal messages, team chat, and teams channels as needed to support communication and workload
Process & Organizational Skills:
  • Ability to manage high volumes of work with accuracy and speed
  • Process documentation and follow standard operating procedures consistently
  • Cross-functional coordination (working with buyers, vendors, and business partners)
Communication Skills:
  • Clear written communication for vendor outreach and internal tickets
  • Ability to escalate issues appropriately and concisely
  • Comfortable asking clarifying questions to avoid downstream errors
Problem-Solving:
  • Identifying and resolving data discrepancies or mismatches
  • Troubleshooting order exceptions (quantity issues, pricing errors, ship window changes)
  • Proactive flagging of patterns or systemic issues
