About You

You are a driven, self-directed sales professional who grows territory performance through strong dealer relationships and strategic execution. You thrive in a remote, field-based role, effectively managing priorities while driving distribution, compliance, and sales growth.

Our ideal candidate would live in or around the Las Cruces, NM or Albuquerque, NM areas, or be open to relocation.

Purpose

The Territory Manager (TM) is responsible for growing his/her defined geographical territory by measuring, planning and enhancing the distribution of the full range of STIHL products through existing and new dealers. This is accomplished through achieving assigned goals and initiatives, ensuring dealer compliance with STIHL policies and acting as the liaison between dealers, the branch and corporate. This position is an outside sales position; the essential functions of this job will be completed remotely.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Maximize STIHL sales by assessing market conditions, the competitive landscape and existing dealers and identifying strategies and promotions to increase distribution and profit, to include booking and sales to dealers.
  • Call on and visit dealers at an appropriate frequency to execute national and regional promotions, Point of Purchase, merchandising and branch programs working synergistically with marketing, customer service, finance and tech departments.
  • Train new and existing dealers on key STIHL programs and facilitate trainings with territory support team, including the coordination and facilitation of STIHL University to a large group of participants.
  • Initiate new dealer development and ensure successful store installation and initial training.
  • Attend and support STIHL at various regional trade shows and dealer events to promote STIHL, our products, and services.
  • Support initiatives as assigned (BER, EDGE, New Dealer, etc.).
  • Develop business/action plans with dealers in order to analyze dealer performance and establish future goals to promote overall business growth opportunities.
  • Maintain reporting (CRM reporting, monthly field reports, territory intelligence reports as requested).
  • Conduct dealer administration tasks, such as responding to email, follow-up, scheduling, maintaining Outlook calendars, STIHL website use setup and maintenance (SSO, Rewards, iCademy, eBiz, etc.).
  • All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Specifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or discipline or the equivalent work experience is required
  • A valid driver's license is required
  • Computer skills including proficiency in MS Office and web-based programs
  • Demonstrates effective time management, willingness for extended overnight travel, and presentation skills
  • Willingness to improve skills by utilizing continuing education and training resources and self-starter and able to perform well with minimal supervision
  • Outdoor power equipment experience preferred
