The Adecco Permanent Recruitment Team is recruiting on behalf of a leading engineering and industrial services organization seeking an experienced Senior Operations Engineer to join its Industrial Engineering team. This position serves as a technical leader for complex industrial projects, working closely with customers, project engineers, vendors, and multidisciplinary field teams to successfully execute projects from planning through completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the overall technical lead for assigned industrial projects.
  • Interface daily with customers, vendors, project engineers, program managers, and field teams to understand project requirements and communicate progress.
  • Support project scoping, costing, quoting, scheduling, and resource planning.
  • Develop comprehensive workflow and resource plans for technically complex projects.
  • Review engineering drawings, schematics, utility requirements, machine foundations, and other project documentation.
  • Support the development and review of engineering design packages.
  • Conduct engineering design reviews with customers and vendors.
  • Coordinate with municipalities and inspectors on permitted projects.
  • Engage vendors for project quoting, material sourcing, and execution.
  • Provide technical direction to multidisciplinary field teams, including:
    • Pipefitters and plumbers
    • Electricians
    • Controls technicians
    • Mechanical and other industrial trades
  • Review technical reports prepared by Project Engineers prior to distribution to customers and management.
  • Ensure projects meet applicable codes, specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
  • Identify and resolve quality or execution issues with internal teams and vendors.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Project Engineers and Team Leads.
  • Conduct formal and informal performance evaluations for assigned team members.
  • Ensure compliance with customer safety requirements, internal safety policies, and applicable regulations.
Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of field experience as an Operations Engineer, Technical Manager, Maintenance Manager, Project Engineer, or similar role within an industrial environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
    • Equivalent electrical or mechanical trade certifications may be considered.
  • Proven experience leading industrial projects and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, specifications, and industry standards.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project.
  • Strong project management, supervisory, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Advanced critical-thinking and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams involving:
    • Electrical
    • Mechanical
    • HVAC
    • Concrete/Masonry
    • Rigging
  • Knowledge of industrial regulations, codes, safety requirements, and best practices.
  • Strong communication and customer-facing skills.
  • Willingness to work in industrial, unclean, or uncomfortable environments when required.
  • Must maintain a reliable vehicle suitable for interstate travel.
Travel Requirements — Approximately 75%

This is a true travel position. The Senior Operations Engineer will travel with project teams throughout the United States and may be on the road 3–4 weeks at a time, with some assignments lasting several months.

  • Approximately 70–80% travel, depending on project workload.
  • Company arranges and pays for hotels, flights, and rental vehicles in advance.
  • Employees who drive their personal vehicle from home to a project site may expense mileage at $0.76 per mile.
  • Daily travel between the hotel and jobsite is not reimbursed.
  • $70/day per diem while traveling.
  • Occasional breaks may occur around holidays; however, employees assigned to the travel team should expect continuous travel between projects.

Pay Details: $101,000.00 to $110,000.00 per year
